Update on this.. dropped my car off at my mechanic for a few days for them to figure out what was wrong.. the moment they drove it they said its the tires.. checked the front end and it was "perfect"

They sent it out to their tire guy who.. *sigh* road force balanced them again.. and charged my mechanic $110! Total charge was $145 when I picked up the car.. told him I've had it balanced multiple times and its not a balance issue.. they told me "they didn't know what they were doing"

3 days later the shaking was back.. brought it to them.. they road forced again!

Car was decent with a slight shake back and forth after a few days.. told them about it.. they offered to balance using their own machine they just purchased (mechanic)... have not been back.

Since then it seems that on real hot days when the car has not been sitting too long.. its been pretty smooth. I also noted recently that the shake I feel in my driver seat and driver floor and pedal seems to be coming from a sticky rear emergency brake.

The shaking steering wheel I can only attribute to flat spots on the tires cause it gets much better when you drive the car for a good 10kms.

I've been searching for a set of used tires to throw on the car.. something in an all-season and less prone to flat spot or shake in cold weather (like this morning). Might try Conti DWS.. but worried they too might flat spot being a "high-performance" all season.

did they check ur tie rods? This happend in my Red p5, I had everything else checked but that bc there was no creaking from the steering. Found out it was that in the end.

IMO get a second opinion from another mechanic. Its been almost a year, surprised they haven't been able to figure out the problem yet.

This is the 2nd mechanic.. I'm pretty sure its the tires.. car was fine before I replaced my tires. That and my shitty brakes.

it takes 20 mins to swap 4 rims/tires. Find someone who's willing to sit on blocks for an hour while you try their rims/tires and you'll have your answer.

Its tricky cause I had my winters on and it was still shaking but in a different way.. only recently I've figured out my emergency brake has been sticking which seems to point that the steering wheel shake is limited to my summers.. and the whole car shake is limited to sticky calipers.

I also have a pair of old OEM tires on rims I have yet to try out..to further complicate things.. the shake comes and goes.. so even if I were to slap on a new set of wheels and tires.. id have to have them on for a week to know for sure.
