Dec 2, 2007 - 6th Annual Holiday Dinner (61 Pic)
At around midnight of Dec 1st marked the first major snowfall of 2007. The weather throughout the day was rain, snow, ice, all mixing up turning the roads from wet flooded roads to black ice and back to flooded wet roads again throughout the day. Due to some safety concerns, some members who original were participating in this event had to stay home to be safe.
However, this did not stop the 30+ members and their friends and family heading out for this annual event by the Toronto Protege Club. In pouring rain, members started to arrive to Tuckers Marketplace located at Warden + Eglington, members quickly rushed into the restaurant holding and hiding their gifts from getting wet. This year, thanks to Kocakola's organization, we were able to secure a private room for our Christmas dinner. Members got seated, and placed their gifts by the gift area and proceeded to enjoy the buffet at Tuckers. As members were finishing their deserts, Junior, our President of the Toronto Protege Club stood up and thanked all members of the club for a great year. As an old tradition, some appreciation awards were given out to all the officers of the club. Members also got a chance to participant in a draw for many Mazda branded gifts donated by Dave Wood Mazda. All in all, this 6th annual TOprotege Holiday dinner was a great event to end the 2007 year. Now everyone will need to prepare for 2008...

Some members might noticed the photos are a bit different from my usual pics, this is because I was using a new lens for this event. Only brought it the day before and never had a chance to test it out. The turnout looks awsome though!
The eastside pre-meet for the 6th annual TOP holiday dinner  It was raining, cold and icy... members still made it out! Pro  Arriving at Tuckers Marketplace, the spot chosen for the 6th annual TOP holiday dinner  Kocakola and MarleyMar  Mr. President, Junior  The eating equipment  lol I think one of the forks is placed wrong...  Tucker's Marketplace. You can see the entrance to our private room.. awsome  The gift area... all those secret santa presents  The flash was too bright I'll have to re-adjust the flash later on The 6th annual TOprotege Holiday Dinner  The buffet was awsome, not as many selection as I expected, but the steak was good  Members taking a break between to let the food settle and going for the next round  Members enjoying their dinner  Anson and Kocakola giving the thumbs up. Guy in hood enjoying pasta... lol  On the left, Mazda_rida enjoying desert with Nancy. On the right, Cocco and Preludegirl, and ALS_Protege(We should change his name to ALS_STi now)  Romeo_MP5 coming into the picture a bit too late, ha ha  I told everyone I was taking a pic... lol but everyone decide to iqnore me  . Except Scooter... Scooter is pro   Evil_y2k_twins  Kocakola in liquid form  More secret santa presents!  Kocakola giving out tickets for the prize draw  The prize tickets.... ooo... i hope i win!  Testing the flash... Spin_e and Hair_extrodinare  Salt, pepper and sugar  Ice cream... yum...  LoL, I chose the Ice cream that said it was sugar free... so decided to add back some sugar  Yep, this one was missing some sugar too  Re-adjusted the flash, lighting looks more natural  Went by the window to take this pic, it was pouring outside.. luckly it was above 0 so nothing was freezing  Mr.President, Junior, making his speech, thanking all members for a great year  The TOprotege Christmas card  Time for some prizes  Mazda "Head" bag  Everybody got head  A Mazda branded cooler  KJS getting head too  More prizes donated by Dave Wood Mazda  Then, some awards for the officers of TOprotege! Vice President, RicecookerP5  Whoo hoo, I got an appreciation thing too! Never expected it, awsome! So pro!  Romeo_Mp5  Kocakola  Cocco  Previous President of the Toronto Protege Club, Scooter.  Then Cocco and MarleyMar started to hand out the secret santa gifts  Junior and his secret santa gift  Ricecooker speaking a few words too, lol the pre-focusing graph on the camera getting ricecooker's attention  Ricecooker, thanking Junior for ensuring TOprotege is running perfectly  The 2007 Toronto Protege Club Christmas card  2003_mazdaspeed said the santa looks like Junior lol  Then members opening up their secret santa gifts  Fun opening up gifts  Many gifts on the table  Ricecooker's secret santa gift... with a bag of rice!  Then Romeo_Mp5 couldn't get his present to open... needed help from PreludeGirl  LOL event midnitehour had to step in!  HA HA, its a baseball bat for that company that wouldn't return Ed's HIDs after sending them in for service  What is this! lol I was FORCED to open my gift! nooo! ha ha ha... For the past 2 years, I've never opened my secret santa gift before christmas yo!  MarleyMar standing there ensuring I open it up ha ha ha!  SOO PRO! Awsome! Spyder01 Photography! Great times, good company, and too much food
Thanks to my secret (not so secret) santa for the "TOPs biggest post-whore tags" LOL...too funny. Do you guys really think I post that much? As always...great job with the pics and write-up Eric. Thanks also to the TOP Officers for recognizing with the plaques. Great idea and very thoughtful. :thumbsup: somebody should have woken Christian up for this picture...

yea I just got home. amazing event, it was worth the 4 hours of 40km an hour on hwy 115 sliding around like crazy. seriously the worst roads ever. Picture all the rain in toronto, but frozen, thats what my drive was like. my car is covered in an inch of ice, no joke. man, I've never gripped the steering wheel so hard.
