Angry Fog lights fuse?

Hi,

Just installed my fog lights yesterday but I wasn't able to get them running.. I was under the impression that it was pretty straight forward install with the harness and switch.

Since my sedan didn't come with fog lights would I need to get a fuse for them?

Does anyone have a link for a fuse box wiring diagram?? I looked on google and no luck

Any advise would be great.

Thank you

Joseph

So, I would imagine you need A) the fog lights B) the fog light harness C) the fog light relay D) the fog light switch E) the fog light fuse (and wiring into the fuse box?). If you had the switch harness in your dash, you may have the relay already. Trace the wire from the switch back under the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. The relay should be somewhere next to the flasher relay. If it is there, make sure you have a 15A fuse in the main fuse box under the hood.

Pop your hood and open your fuse box. There will be an empty slot which requires a 15A (correct me someone, I may be wrong) fuse.

I don't think it requires any additional wiring because the harness to plug the fog lights is there off the assembly line. If the car didn't come with fogs, the harness is (should be) clipped onto the windshield washer reservoir.

You should have a switch, a relay, a fuse, the Y shaped harness that goes from where your washer bottle is to the bumper and of course the light housings. It's a dead simple install if you have all the parts. I rewired the entire thing from scratch because my wires were corroded and it only took me an hour.

I have the lights, harness and switch. It makes sense why the lights aren't turning on with missing relay and fuse.

Does anyone know if the relay comes with the car? or will I have to purchase one...

Would any 15a fuse work or will I have to get it from mazda?

Thanks for your help

Without sounding like too much of a dick here. If you have to ask if you need a Mazda 15a fuse maybe you should take your car to a shop. Electrical issues can be come very costly

i had the same problem before when i was trying to get my fog lights to work.
apparently my car came with a fuse in line. i only needed to look for the relay.

you can look in your car if it came with it, im assuming its there if you have an LX

from what i remember, it had blue/red with stripes and blue wire relay connector. looking for the relay was a little bit tough, unless you go directly to mazda dealers.

what i'd suggest you to do is go to a scrap yard. thats where i found mine, didnt even had to pay for it. relay part number is B150 67 730

scroll down and you'll find a manual on how to install fog lights from mazda, it also has all the part #s.

hope this helps.
