on any car part that does not wear out, you are much better off buying it used, usually for much less than what it costs new.

for example MSP rear sway bars usually go for around $100-$120 with brackets and endlinks. (at least thats what I paid for the last 2 ive purchased).

and if the seller is local you dont get stuck waiting on the shipping.

if you need something new though, go through mosi they are always helpful !

agreed. e.g. I'm currently selling a very nice CAI

and yeah, if going new, usually MOSI or others.

Another bonus, you'll get advice & sometimes assistance on DIY stuff.

Can anyone reccomend a body shop, in the mississauga area, that can take care of some rust? It's isolated to a few areas in the engine bay, near the struts. also the rear quarters and a few spots on the bar between the front and rear doors. I would want it dont properly though, cutting and welding. I'll see if i can get some pictures of the affected area.

They were good with me and did decent work. Price was reasonable (not lowest, not highest).
All they do is body work.

Before you dropping $ on your first car, how long you planning on keeping this car?
The reason I'm asking is if you only planning to keep it for 1-2 yrs....is it worth spending to mod it, fix the rust, etc...

Speaking from past exp when I bought my first car, I was a bit excited and spent a bit more money on it than I should, I ended up sold it after 12 months and move on to something else.

Like others said....getting the parts from other members is the cheapest option (vendors may not like that, lol). If I bought all my aftermarket parts brand new from shop, I'm probably in a huge debt already, lol

Well i'd like to put a fair bit of money into this car over the next while, so yea i plan to drive it much longer then 1-2 years, thats why I am looking at fixing this rust properly before it gets worse, so i have a solid foundation to build on.
I figure instead of buying a new car for ~14k i'd rather put the same money into this one. I have lots of plans, suspension, brakes, built kl, and a bit of exterior along the way. it's just going to happen kind of slow, over a year or so.
