Parking brake adjustment bolt.

Wondering what size this bolt is.

I tried with a 10 and an 8 last nite to no avail. Aso its on a weird angle. Wondering if this is another broken feature this fully loaded car came with.

Did you work on the rear calipers recently? Normally you don't have to adjust the parking brake cable (I've never done it in the 11 years I've had my car).

Perfect thanks!
Yea I swapped the caliper last week, however the parking brake arm goes all the way to the top of the opening, it did this even previous to the swap.

Before adjusting the parking brake cable:

You need to adjust the 4mm hex screw at the back of each rear caliper so the brake pads actually touch the rotor. There should be some resistance or rubbing when turning the rear wheels. Most people set it so there is no resistance at all, which results in the hand brake going vertical.

If your rear calipers are not seized, the pistons will eventually readjust themselves and the parking brake handle will return to its normal position. This usually takes up to 3 days on my car. (I have no idea why it takes so long to self-adjust!)

after i did my rr caliper, my parking brake hardly worked. i looked around on here, and the simple way of doing it, was..

start the car

mash the brake pedal to the floor (like literally MASH, put it to the rug)

yank the hand brake up and down 5 times

release brake pedal

mash brake pedal to the floor again

yank hand brake

repeat until its as tight as you'd like.

5 clicks up and my car isnt going anywhere lol

^ what he said.
The 4mm hex head has a small gear attached to it that tightes as the above process is applied.
