Just wanted to post up in hurr my experience with doing this mod.
I couldn't find the relay mentioned in the How-To because it is hidden by various other things. So I thought to myself "maybe it's the same box as my DRL wire that I cut?" I looked there and sure enough there IS a red/white wire. I cut it. My Driver side headlight doesn't work. I re-attach it and it works again. Frustrated I start pulling things out looking for the foglight relay mentioned. I finally find it and there was no red/white wire. There was 1 solid red wire, and 3 various blue wires. So i figure one is power (assuming red), 2 are pos to the fogs and 1 is ground. I cut the solid red and BINGO! Proceeded as per the instructions. Car: 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege (anyone else had this issue?) Also when doing this mod, make sure you plug back in the ignition harness before trying to start the car. I had a heart attack for a second then hung my head in shame when I noticed. hahaha

wanted to say thanks again for posting this
i did step 1 a while ago, and step 4 just now. works great! i didn't see the need to run power from ignition personally, i just didn't want the fogs to turn off when the high beams are on |

i know it's an old thread. but i followed this today and it worked out great.
only thing was different is that there is a red/white wire. but that's on the DRL box. do not cut it. the Fog lights relay is to the left of it and the wire is a Solid Red One. This is on an 02 P5.
