mp3t's build thread

So I'm formerly Londonmp3 but decided to change names as I have not more relation with the city of London. So Ive been playing around with my prot since my last thread and am getting back to working on it as the warmer weather comes. Anyways I will be posting pics when a camera is available but I need some dicussion on a few things.

First thing is new front brake setup...I just went thru the painful process of breaking 2 lugs onto my studs and had to drill them out...While this happened I decided I wanna do a better brake setup due to mine shot and turbo now on the car...

What are are ppl running...Im looking to go drilled and slotted with an aggressive pad...wheres the best place to buy online or store...

brembo blanks and hawk pads. im sure u could get that all from mosi. also you could get larger brakes for cheap buy getting mazda 6 calipers, pads, and rotors. theres a few sizes you can pick from too, the mazdaspeed 6 brakes being the largest.

no need for bigger brakes, just get more aggressive pads.

hawk hps, ht10, black.

All of those will put your neck muscles to the test.

I use Hawk HPS for street, HT-10 for track, with Power Slot rotors.

Best brake mod you can do is better tires. Period.
Once you've done that, then you can think about what the smallest rim size you'll be using, and consider your caliper/pad/rotor options from there.

cross drilled and slotted aren't needed. brembo blanks would be the best IMO and hawk pads.

as stated mazda 6 brakes wil bolt right up,( i believe mazda 3 will work too) but if you are only making stock MSP power or up to 200whp you will be losing power by using the bigger brakes. the rotors are ***king heavy. so unless you are either after a bigger brake look, or are pushing more then 300whp i would stick to stock size brakes. you also have to worry about wheel size when you go up with the brakes.

Im going with a rx8 rims setup this time around...the hawk pads and brembo blanks or something drilled and slotted just for look would be most economical im thinking...the mazda 6 brakes seem legit to get a bigger look but in all seriousness its overkill im not driving around with 300 pounds girls haha
