Hi guys just getting close to picking an alarm+car starter for my 5 speed P5. Just wondering if anyone has had trouble with thier compustar alarm+car starter system. What kind of problem and was there a fix for it?
Thanks for any info!!!!!!!

hey, i've had the compustar alarm + starter for over a year now, and have hd no problems with it.
The only problem i had was the hood pin kept getting water in it, since i took it for car wash many times in the winter last year.
But i've since got a magnetic hood pin (ask jeff @ lockdown) and have had no problems at all.
Great range on this system as well.

been in for 2 months. got the mercury hood pin so no water problems with that. the sticky stuff came off the receiver antenna in the car but good double sided tape fixed it. VERY happy with it. Jeff at Lockdown Security (http://www.lockdownsecurity.ca) (LOCKDOWNP5 I think) on the board did a great job at an excellent price...

Looks like I'm going with the compustar, someone also told me the viper system doesn't have the fail safes that compustar has for their autostart on a manual trans. Can someone verify this for me???

VIPER does not make a remote starter that is safe for a 5 Speed vehicle. If you drive a 5 Speed and want a remote starter, the Compustar is the way to go. Give me a call at (647)-435-5896 or PM me for more details on a system for your ride. We specialise in putting your ride on LOCKDOWN!
