Hey Everyone...
In the link below is to another thread about my recent experience with SW [Steve].
I know some of you have done business with him in the past as I did as well to get my Springs etc...installed...
When it came down to purchasing an alarm/remote starter from Grounded Conceptz and was "confirmed" from Steve that he can do the install...I went ahead to pay the guy to do the install..He did not complete the installation....
All details are in the other thread....
Again...For those people on the board that do business with him...by all means, continue...I am just voicing my opinion and my frustration....
And for those that know him or work with him...I really don't care if this gets back to him...
He screwed me so I'll make it harder for him doing business with this club...
Some may agree, some may care, some may not...But OH Well!
This link started with "Directions to Grounded Conceptz" under the "Idle Chatter section...
Frustration! (http://msg.toprotege.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=11;t=2520;st=0)

I'm no lawyer but I really get emotional about your ordeal. Not only do I get emotional I GET SHAOLIN GHETTO EMOTIONAL TOO!!! It could happen to anyone of us!
We need to form a COALITION and BOYCOTT their asses if this isn't resolved and mail them these email posts. 600+ TPC members viewing and expressing a view in your story is not too good.
The unShaolin way would be to put on Shaolin Ski Mast and visit them. Weird things happen these days like floods, fires, sniper shootings, sniper vandalism, kidnappings, thefts and hostage situations.
Sh@# man!, I almost feel PALESTINIAN by now and ALLAH forbid, if a bomb goes up with me strapped to it for you.
All I have to say is this that they are...,
No good double dealing, paytaking, uninstalling, poorly installing, bad business, mazda screwing, shop owning, cheap refunding, emotional mind bending, capitalist rapist, business owning, aftermarket parts hook-up, bbbb..,bastards. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif

...And by the way.
Uhhm, I don't know any lawyers?
I believe that public and group pressure tactics will do. There are 8 million stories in the ghetto. I can share some of how WE THE PEOPLE TOOK BACK DA STREETS. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

A Verbal contract is just as good as a written contract. (and made that much better by the fact that you have 2 witnesses) The agreement was that your alarm would be installed for $150. He could not install it, he should refund you the whole $150. OR if he knows someone that CAN install, he should send you to that person and HE would be responsible for all costs incurred.
He is operating as a small company not Steve doing an install. I like Steve, he is a good guy, but you paid for a service and you are entitled to a full refund OR your alarm installed. END OF STORY. (as long as there isn't anything I'm missing from teh story).
There is no doubt in my mind that if you took him to small claims you would win. However, is it really worth the 150$ http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Principle is at stake, and I believe is worth more than $150. Then again, it is a hassle.

Nicely said Sondra...
Don't get me wrong...Steve is a nice guy, but was very unrealistic an unreasonable when it came down me asking politely and proffessionally for a refund...He just couldn't get it! "from a customers point of view."
I understood that it took him along time, but I didn't pay him to "figure it out" how to install the alarm.
I re-edited all the posts to just initials for the company name.
Is it really worth the $150???
I could have used that $150 towards to get it completed by someone that "Knows How"!
And I like your new Avatar Sondra...

What I meant by is it worth 150$ is that you will have to tkae a day off work to go to court...as will your 2 witneses, you will have to prepare, pay court fees etc..etc...its a huge hassle.
If I were in your shoes, I would tell Steve that hes a good guy however he has 3 options, 1-He refunds you 150$, 2-He pays someone to do the install for you or 3- You will have to take him to small claims. Simple as that. I'm frustrated for you.
150$ for an install is not really that much of a discounted price. He didn't know what he was doing which is why it took him that much longer. Its his problem not you the paying customer.

Why don't we just do a full-out boycott on him. 600 less potential customers is a lot to lose, especially a group so into what he sells. One advantage of so many people in this club, is the strength we can wield in a situation like this. Ok, maybe 600 people isn't such a big-deal in itself...but if we tell our friends, they tell theirs, we post on other car-clubs boards, etc etc etc....maybe this fact should be mentioned to 'Steve'

not a lawyer either, but what we have here is a case of the seller not performing a service for the buyer at the agreed upon price. since the service was incomplete, the contract would be deemed to be null and void. so in terms of having a case against him for not completing the install, you stand a very good chance of winning. but like sondra said, talk to him, tell him the situation, give him the options, then see what happens. if he's stupid enough to ignore you, then you haven't lost anything other than some time. take him to small claims, but only as a last resort. remember doing something similar to your situation in business law class way back when.......but a verbal contract w/ witnesses is just as good as a written one......

It's sort of neat what this little scenario has brought out in all of us and I respect all this talk and diplomacy. I guess you people would do well at the 'love-in U.N. conferences.'
I so feel it for Al, that I feel that I'm dealing with Arafat, Bin Laden, Khaddafi, Saddam by bargaining with them. You can't negotiate properly when your being horse f$#@*%$ and smile about it.
Al has presented his case and the counter case is weak in ethics but still stands as a stalemate sets in. Al still has the trump card and I'm gonna help him play it.
Fight terror with terror and counter terror with terror. When fighting a monster sometimes you gotta be a monster.
What I'm really saying and promoting is that we form a long ass line of Protege's outside the home or shop and Alex go in and explain why the group of 100+ cars are rallying around.
We need to take back the streets the good ol' fashioned way with muscle and a visual of solidarity like Hoffa, MLK Jr. , Malcolm X, Mandela, Farrakhan. It should take a nation of millions to hold us back.
FIGHT THE POWER!!!!
First we start politely and peacefully then we unleash little doses of hell slowly until...
Well I know most of us don't come from oppressed backgrounds or had to fight or protest for anything too meaningful except save the spotted owl in the valley, save the trees, donate to the WWF for the Whales, Tie and stick different garbage coloured ribbons to promote Drunk driving, Men not beating women, and a whole lot of ideology crap. Shit starts within us and the physical mobilization of troops.
WTF we must be like the First Infantry Soldiers going to battle this sorta crap. I myself will not wait on you chicken heads, I am a Green Beret , Army Airbourne Ranger who will go in first to infiltrate.
Dammit , too much war movies. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif
