I'm thinking of getting a custom cat-back exhaust system but I want to know something before I get it. What is the difference between a cat-back exhaust system that has mendrel-bent and one that doesn't? Are there any difference in performance, sound, etc???

Thanks!

Yes there is a difference. The mandrel bent pipe keeps its full diameter around the bends. While conventionaly bent pipe crushes in around the bends. Dont get a cat back that is not mandrel bent. If you just want sound then get an axle back. But if you want performance then get a Mandrel bent cat back.

In my car I noticed more pickup at the top end. But dont expect to get a kick in the ass when you stomp it from an exaust system. Its just a bit smoother and sweeter sounding acceleration. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Also note that your car must breathe well to maximize the performance of whatever else you decide to add to the car. Being cheap at this performance foundation will hinder the rest of your mods.

These two Car Kung-fu experts are right!
Now!, what type of intake do you have or plan on purchasing?

If you are strapped for cash after the exhaust installation, may I humbly refer you to Ghetto Concept Performance Trends for his COLDRAM™ intake.

COLDRAM™ was developed in the streets for the streets, by techinicians who saw the need and needless waste of other systems.

Guaranteed mid to high range torque increase 10% minimum for $12.03 with taxes. Probably the best power to money ratio increase in the whole TPC.
