Ok, yesterday when i was plugging my phone charger into my ciggarette lighter it broke. the top of it broke off for some reason...
anyways, when this happened, my stereo/radio turned off and has not returned. not even the time is showing.
what could be the cause and how do i fix it? can i fix it myself or shall i take it to the dealership?

First, is your lighter working? I believe the radio and lighter are on the same fuse. Is your deck factory or aftermarket?

You've blown a fuse.
I can't remember where the deck fuse is, but I think it's in the panel down by your left foot when you're in the drivers seat.
When you take the cover off the panel, the inside of the cover tells you which fuse is which. Try and locate the fuse for your deck, and pull it out. You will be able to tell if it's blown because the metal strip inside it will look like it exploded, and there will probably be a small burn mark inside the fuse too.
Its best to do this with the car off.
If the fuse is blown, you need to replace it with one of the same rating. Your dealership might do this for you no charge.

i dont know if the lighter is working or not, the only thing i have to plug into it is my phone charger, and that is broken.

i will check it out later when someone gets home that actually knows a little about cars. http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
hopefully the dealer will b able to help me for free

Sounds like the fuse, they are really easy to change, you can do it in 2 minutes...good luck.

I think there is even a fuse puller in the compartment that logan talked about.
