I was working underneath my dash and found this part under it....it's not hooked up to anything at all. Sorry dont have a camera to take a pic but on it is this part number: BL8D 67 5DZ

what does it do?

I'm going to take a guess that's it's some part of the wiring harness for the keyless entry system?

The basic wiring is probably installed in all Protegés with power locks, but maybe needs a receiver attached in order to function?

Having the receiver seperate would make it much easier to match the remotes and receivers together for each car.

It's a total guess though.
