Ok guys, for those of you who know me, this is typical ME about anything I am not happy about!!!

I went to see SpeedTech Auto after work today, I showed Cherman and Gabriel the problem that we are having, Cherman went back to his office and brought back another set of wires that he had ordered previously in the year for the 2.0 L Protege, in yellow, the ugly yellow, and we tried it on and it fit like a glove, it's got round rubber pieces and fits perfectly. He took my old set back and told me that this was the only one he had from the earlier order, he also showed me another 4 sets similiar the current one.

He called the supplier right away and he thinks too that they were sent the wrong ones, so he is going to ask them to replace them with the proper one. I took the one he had, I wanted red so I put red vinyl tape around in and looks great.
I will post pics tomorrow.

Mike, yes you know who you are, you need to contact Cherman, he said that he needs to talk to you since you set up the group buy, I got mine replaced so this is for those of you that need to get it replaced.

He asked me to let the club know that it would take about 10 days to get the order in, and asked that only Mike deal with him, he doesn't have any others one in stock right now. For the mean time he suggest that you put the stock ones back in, they are safer and will not cause any problems.

They were very good with me knowing that I am not oriental but just a pain in the ass brown guy and I think I will be doing business with them in the future.

PS: Dave westside, this was a legitimate deal, I don't think Mike made these himself and tried to scam the club.

Sam, thanks for taking the initiative to go to SpeedTech and talking to them about our situation. Sherman is a great business man and he will not let a huge purchasing power like us get away. I will call Sherman tomorrow and talk to him about it. I am sure he will do a 1:1 exchange... we return the wires and get a new properly fitting one.

However, this means more headaches for us. So everybody please uninstall your wires ASAP and put them back into the original packaging (including that little black clip). If you are meeting up with any TPC officers, please give your wires to them. Otherwise, I will hold a meet or two next week and will collect your wires from you. When I get the new wires, I will hold another meet for pickup.

I will talk to Sherman tomorrow and if the plans change, I will post the details here.

Even though this isn't my fault, I'm sorry for all the trouble that it has caused.

That's great news, now someone should start a thread about which ones need to be returned and which don't because they weren't all the wrong ones.

I will talk to Sherman and ask him if either all 25 must be replaced or whoever feels like exchanging them. So if you honestly feel like nuthing is wrong with your wires and you don't want to exchange them, that's your choice. However, if Sherman feels that we all have to exchange all 25 wires, then that means we have to get all 25 wires back (i highly doubt this though.... ). Again, i'll talk to him tomorrow and i'll post details.

SilverMP5: When you say fit perfectly, do you mean they fit snug to the coil pack?

Yes that's what I mean and here is the proof. One of the pictures where you see me holding the top pieces of the wire, the one on the left is the new set and the one on the right is the stock set.

My and car and Sparkco wires (http://ca.photos.yahoo.com/bc/sameer_silver1/lst?.dir=/Protege5&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//ca.photos.yahoo.com/bc/sameer_silver1/lst%3f%26.dir=/Protege5%26.src=ph%26.view=t)

BTW Mike, I got a new set from him that I feel is good for me because it fits perfectly. It was yellow, really ugly yellow, uglier than the yellow P5, but I wrapped it in red vinyl electrical tape and it looks good and fits good for me. So that's 24 sets or wires to go.

After reviewing the pics, I am actually glad that there will be a "prooper fix" to the problem that we all are having.

Mike...Are we gonna be able to change colors? Really not to fond of the Flourescent Green [Yellow]...
I might want to go the McDonald's Look.....Red and Yellow look under the hood!

If not....I can cover it with something "Yellow"

Couldn't really see the crimp style in Sameer's pic but I'm pretty sure I got the right set as well.

Actually, the crimp on the set we received looks like a round silver fork, the one I got replaced looks more like the head of a plier with a gold finish on top. Also if you looked inside my old set you could see some leftover materials, the new set is really clean and made really well.

Hope this helps
