View Full Version : My LOCKDOWN Experience

Well, tonight I took the car up for the last finishing touches on Jeff's work on my car. I had the compustar 2-way installed with the turbo timer, the high security package, a remote trunk release, and the grounding kit all installed on Saturday. There was a slight problem with the LED but we were both running late on Saturday so we left it for today. I was really impressed with Jeff's and Steve's work. I don't know a lot about electronics installation aside from lower end car audio, but it seemed their attention to detail was excellent. There was absolutely no mess left in the car - no wire strippings, no electrical tape, and no marks left anywhere in or on the car, and no visible wires anywhere. Where the bolts were removed to put on the grounding kit and for mounting the sirens in the engine bay, they sprayed some grease over top of the bolts to protect the areas from moisture. All in all, I would highly reccommend LOCKDOWN to anyone who wants any installs done, and I'll definitely be back there for some future work. Way to go Jeff, and THANKS!!!
Cheers.

Well, I have to agree.
I took the day off of work yesterday to get the Arctic Start alarm / remote starter installed by Jeff and Steve. The experience was extremely similar, nothing left in the car, everything was hidden quite nicely and the guys really took the time to explain how everything worked.
I also had a grounding kit put in, and again Jeff explained everything in great detail. The killer was that it was a kit I ordered from the states quite a while ago and Jeff had no problems with it.
Bottom line: Great work and great service!
I will be doing a write up / review of the grounding kit after I have made some measurable observations!

also got the grounding kit done last month. I notice a difference. idles smoother and lower now, and definately picks up a bit faster when i'm over 100kph.

My initial reaction is that is seems really great, but I want to get in there with a multimeter and mesure the resistance on certain points.
We installed an eight cable system in mine with low gauge wires. Jeffs kit runs in parallel with the grounds already in the engine bay (which seems good too). We eneded up grounding the engine at two different points due to some re-worked instructions.
My observations so far: Lower idle, and the engine seems more responsive. It may just be the warmer weather and the 'new' factor imparing my judgement, so as I say I will write it up once I feel I have something observable.
I would say throw his kit in for the extra cash.
sorry for the threadjack tiwing!

Not a threadjack at all. It was about Lockdown and that's what we're talking about ... I got the 4 wire kit, and it "feels" more responsive. But just before that I had the flash done and the new hardpipes installed.... and I changed my driving position. I have NO idea whether it makes a difference but it certainly can't hurt. But the wires look cool blue in the engine... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I agree, Jeff and Steve are very friendly and proffessional in their work ethics.
Got some work done there already and going back for more once the weather improves.
I'm glad I found Lockdown through this board.
