I took my car in to Lockdown yesterday and got the hyper grounding kit as well as had them install a 2 channel PPI amp and 12'' cerwin vega sub.

Steve did an awesome job at running the power/RCA/ground/remote wires as well as a really professional job mounting the amp to the back of the seats. This was hooked this up to an alpine 9811 HU and I'm so happy. it pounds!

Jeff hooked me up with the hyper grounding kit and it DOES make a nice difference! my car idles much smoother now, 1st gear is so much smoother with no lag anymore. pickup in 5th gear seems a bit better also. If you don't have the grounding kit, get it done!

Familiar with Jeff's work since he wired my amp/sub for me.

Red-i, how much for the grounding kit?

I know it's been listed somewhere on this board in the past, just too lazy to look.

And I'm too lazy to look as well, but I guess I just don't understand what a grounding kit does..! I thought it was just to reduce static electricity build up by improving the ground - but briefly, how does it improve accelleration, power, and idle? (Hope this doesn't qualify as a threadjack)

grounding kit was 60.  grounds engine block to car chassis and grounds 2 other points but i can't remember off the top of my head.

as for how it improves performance and idle, I can't really do a good job at explaining.. maybe someone else can jump in here and give some more info.  I do know that I did notice a definate improvement though!
