Hello
I need some insigt on the auto starters
I found one for 275 including installation at a shop in woodbridge.
Alex installed one and quoted a similar price.

I recently however saw the Canadian Tire starter for 80 bucks. I imagine installation may be another 80. If there is a warranty on the product and labour, why not just get the canadian tire one.

Does anyone know of other cheap options that I should consider. It is getting cold and I swore that I would never again get into a cold car in winter.

Please help I really want to do this soon. My car is auto so hopefully i won't run into the problems that Al had with his.
Thanks
Paul

Hhmmm!

I too Paul, swore I would never get into a cold car if could. If I were to get one which is iffy with the horor stories in the posts way back when alex was considering one, I would also integrate it with an alarm system.

Once again like most of us said way back. Find a reputable installer and well know product. I may opt out the GHETTO way since I have developed that reputation here on the board and buy a 12v plug in vibrating seat that warms my tushi.

I see two brand models at cdn tire, Design Tech and ProStart of which they also recommend they install. Let them do it, so they can undo s#!@ if it happens and you have there extended warranty on top of the manufacturers warranty if you are in there Options Master Card Program.

PLEASE and i repeat PLEASE becareful with no name brand remote starters...

There was once an article that a Toyota Sienna van had a no name brand remote starter and it caused a fire... in the toronto star..

SPEND THE EXTRA CASH... you screw around and buy a cheaper alarm, may result in starter damage (OVER STARTING BECAUSE Cheaper remotestarters do not have rpm sense)..

See new thread i started for further details

I would be very inclined to spend 250 ( but no more) on a starter/alarm combo.
I have absolutely no clue where to look or what brands are decent
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
