i was thinking of running a coupel of neon tubes along 2 sides of my amp. can i simply run the power from the remote line (as Ive been told it runs 12v)? would i run it straight from the power line from the batt?

DO NOT source 12v power (power to run the neons) from the REMOTE.
Run a seperate line with it's own fuse from the 12V source used by the AMP.

ok.. could i then just run a line from the end of the power cable (i.e. wehre it connects to the amp) to the neon (with a fuse on it?). i really have to run a separate wire al the way from battery to the back just for the neon?

A trick way of doing it would be to tap 12V off your trunk light so that when you open the tailgate your neons will come on. There is no need to run a wire from the battery directly.
Just peel away the plastic in the trunk (driver's side) and you'll be able to see the wires that lead to your trunk light. Tap into 12V and ground the neon in a convenient location.

geez, if you going to say that, you might as well tell him to light a match while filling up his gas tank.

not sure the trunk light can take 12 volts can it? just hook it to the lighter safer and easier

actually my other idea was just to throw a couple neons under the dash on the driver and passenger side. however i guess this puts me in rice territory http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif
