I was just wondering if there was a fuse for the DRL (Daytime Running Lights) in the fuse box. If there is, which one is it and is there any other electricals connected to that same fuse?

Is there something specific you wanted to know or do?

Yes, I was wondering if there was a fuse for the DRL so that you can just take the fuse out and voila no more DRL. I do understand that you can get a ticket for no DRL on cars that have them equipped, and yes I've looked into the Fog-no DRL DIY but I thought that it could be done to just turn them off during the daytime. I also thought it could be as simple as taking out the fuse. I have done that in the past with my prelude and my civic, I merely took out the fuse and no DRL. I just can't figure out which fuse it might be.

On your P5 disabling the DRL is not an easy task. No pulling the switch trick will work. It involves alot of rewiring and click on this link for instructions.

My Girlfriends DRL's stopped working a while ago, and we took it in to the Dealership, Avante Mazda, they had it fixed, Aparently the service advisor told her, it was a burnt out fuse of some sort.

Hey tdot mp5,

Can you check her invoice to see what it was that they replaced? It would be interesting to see if there was an actual fuse for this malfunction and if it is truly as simple as pulling out a fuse.

Thanx!

I also had a 5th gen prelude, and yes it was just a fuse.
But...

Trust me on the 3rd gen protege there is no fuse you can pull out to disable JUST the DRL's.

I checked and re-checked. I pulled fuses. The result you loose other function.

There is a DRL control module. You can not remove this module because you will not have any front lights at all. No low beam, high beam, fog lights, or DRL.

If you want to be able to turn them on or off follow the DRL disable in the How-To section.(I wrote it http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif) If you don't want to cut wires then there is no way.

yea Mazda likes to use one fuse to do multiple functions.
