Does anyone else agree that we need a chat section in here ?? I mean there are soooo many short little msgs that could be answered in live chat.

Yeah we definetly need one, I see people chatting back and forth through the message board and it makes some post so long or out of topic.

well, it seems alot of people are using MSN for chatting purposes.

There was a thread a while back where people were posting their MSN names, and I grabbed a few names off it.

Only problem I have with MSN is remembering who is who on the list, cuz some people (myself included) go by different names on MSN.

For the record - or not for the record - my contact is madshrapnomuffin@hotmail.com - and on screen I'm Otter.

I wouldn't mind a chat room! Although
The toronto Civic club has a chat rooms too, and
has way more people chilling in the board room,

But i go to the chat room and no one is ever there!
keep that in mind. If we get one will everyone use it?

I personally will!

I would use the chat room too...especially if it had some kind of 2nd window or split screen so we don't have to exit a window...
This would also eliminate "Dude! Empty your Inbox"

I currently use MSN messenger...

I think a chat room would be very cool...cuz I don't have msn at work (it sucks I know!http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and I spend most of my time on the board while I'm at work!

we could get a java irc chat..
http://www.jpilot.com/    if rowan or someone (i could do it after school) is willing to set it up we could get it going.. though we're going to have to find a server out there to host this on.

that would be a pretty sweet idea. Although it is kinda fun to look at peoples' conversations on the post. There is some funny shit sometimes, and it's stuff we wouldn't see if it was just said in chat. But ya, chat would be cool too....

I agree. If it was set up so that it opened in a different window then if you were on the board, and had the time you could login to the chat and just check every few minutes to see if anyone is there. I tried MIRC and couldn't figure it out.
And I don't have MSN so thats out. I don't even have net access at my place right now, so I can't even use icq.
I think the only loss would be that we would miss the cyber sex posts between navy and keewee.

jirc doesn't require a separate client to run ,but it connects you to a specific channel on a server. You can chat directly in the browser. I'm not sure if it will work at work though you have to download some stuff to get it running.. but i believe it's soley java based.
