Hey Everyone, just bought a 2003 P5 and I got the Mazda perimeter alarm as an option. The alarm is little bit too sensitive and is being set off by trucks and loud exhausts when I have it parked...How do you adjust the sensitivity? Need help fast, really irritating the neighbours.
Thanks in advance, Rob.

Hey JJ, not sure if it is the Prestige, but it was the one offered as an option. The thing is that I can't make it back to the dealership right away and I was wondering if it is something I can adjust myself.

i guess it's not the prestige system otherwise you would get the decals and the instruction booklet for programming the system.
call your dealership for help my friend...
btw how much did you pay for the alarm? mine was $250.

I don't know much about it, but I know that wherever you have the alarm system installed, either near the steering coloum or behind the glove box, there is a dial. Mine goes from 1-5. 5 being the most sensitive. I have never adjusted mine but there has to be someone that has.

I have adjusted the sensitivity on my alarm, but it wasn't the factory alarm. I hav an aftermarket Clifford alarm. I did have the factory one until I didnt like it anymore. There should be a dial to turn it down...obviously hidden somewhere.

The factory alarm has a black shock sensor with a small white dial on the side. This is your adjustment - go crazy!
I had the same problem last year and had the dealership adjust for me.
BTW newbie, what did the dealership charge you for the alarm?
