HEY PEEPS!

Need a bracket to hold it in place, I think...can anyone here volunteer their expertise and time to try and fix it up? I'll buy ya drinks!? I'm a Central Chick...the ones Dave lusts for...

I lust for central chicks too, but they're too tall! JK! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Anyways... the other Dave, 323S~FW, has made several brackets before to hold the intake in a firm place. He might still have them, i'm not sure. It's best that you get in touch of him to see if he can still make/sell you one.

Only one without any problems is Chopstick cause his intake was WESTSIDE engineered. Honestly I don't know why more people don't pay attention to how Mike and I installed his intake. IMO it's the best way to go.

Check to see if your intake is hitting the master cylinder. I had this problem too (Ractive intake) and I fixed it by turning the pipe at the throttle body. The bracket that comes with the intake isn't exactly the strongest thing on the earth but it does hold it sufficiently if you bend it to the right position.

Im sure my intake was the one of the first ones out there and also West Side engineered......

And this just goes to show everyone else.... there is nothing like the west side.

Im a tool and die apprentice, i made a custom bracket out of stainless steel for my CAI on my 2k2 protege. Its so rock solid, i could probably stand on the thing with it not moving. I had the same problem at low RPM with the bracket that came with the CAI, you would hear a knocking noise, its actually the CAI hitting the hood.... They arent hard to make at all... 10 minutes labour

KeeWee

So seriously, if anyone can really make the noise stop, PM me and we'll arrange something!! I will be forever grateful!

Hey KeeWee

The best thing to do is to go to Home depot, or Crappy tire and pick up a 5" metal corner bracket. When I say 5" I mean each arm of the corner bracket is 5".

It is simple to do, but takes a little muscle. You will need a hammer, and a power drill w/1/3" metal drill bit to slightly modify the bracket.

The bracket as you can probably guess looks like an "L" with two equal length arms (5" each).

You will have to bend the bracket (with the hammer) to make it into the shape of a......... Square root symbol (Sorry, best way I can describe it).
Then drill a hole for the intake mount.

And that’s it......15 minutes tops.

I haven't had any problems with this bracket. It looks pretty good, and it's realy sturdy.

Let me know if you need any help.....I luv doing this kinda stuff.

Don't listen to them!
What do they know!

I have the product that will solve all of your problems.

For the low low price of $5, I can offer you a custom bracket that has solved the intake knocking problems of many a member, including myself, Ross, Sameer, and a few others.
The universality of the design has been proven.
The brackets are a heavy guage steel, which is IMMEASURABLY stronger than the bracket provided with the kit, and is high heat primed and rust proof painted in your choice of red, yellow or blue. The yellow is a perfect match to the pipe fitting colour, and the red matches the stock tower brace.
Plus, I live very close to you, so delivery takes only minutes. I'll even install it for you.

This is no joke, so if you're interested PM me. If you don't like it, I offer a full unlimited money back guarantee. No questions asked.
What do you have to lose?

Pretty colours, free installation, and a money back guarantee.
You can't go wrong!

(man, I should be majoring in business)
