Today, C7 Executive Management Team have done a driving review of the route, stop points, and we're just confirming details with for food &amp; beverage and then I will post details of the route, km's, and how the passage of this large convoy of cars is going to take place.

Many of you will be wondering how a ride like this will go over. Fear not, we're taking safety, road hazards, traffic, and the potentially 1km long collection of cars that are assembling for this ride, and we are confident that you will all be very impressed 8).

Rest assured that the C7 Fall Tour will become an annual tradition of growing proportions and we expect that you will all be pleased with the afternoon we've planned out.

Please stay tuned for the final details to be released within the next few days

I can probably make it, and probably my cousins from the RSX Club and Miata Club will be joining me.

Logan: currently, the master list sees over 120 cars, and over 200 participants. as with any event, last-minute bail outs are bound to occur. this event will be a success nonetheless! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

hcsnoopy: sounds good i'll put you down! no, everyone is welcome, however we would like to get a general sense of how many people will be coming. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

just thought i'd add a few things in here since that's right close to home for me......been there done that......and if i wasn't out of the country, i'd do it again.....having said that, here are my little tid-bits

- yes it is quite a nice drive to go up and down the forks, the scenery is amazing and the there is one point on the run that i've seen a number of cars get stuck on, literally cause they took the corner too fast and they were pinned up on the bank.....hehehe........funny sight......

- if you have 1km car convoy, it's gonna be super jam packed cause the run is probably only a few kms at most from one end to the other......

- since you're going on the weekend, you'll likely see a shiet load of motorcycles there since they're there on a regular basis

- as a result of this being a &quot;well-known&quot; twisty site, there are also a number of police officers that are patrolling the area.....last time I went, we counted one cruiser for every 100 meters or so.....all in all we saw like 20 cops that day.......scary, but fun at the same time......hahahaha......that day alone they must have pulled over a ton of cars........

that's assuming we have enough clout as the hells angels.....but it's usually the weekend crotch-rocket clubs that go there......i just hate the traffic that builds up there......

all the best with this! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

The following are some excerpts from the C7Performance.com Executive Management Team discussions regarding the Fall Tour and the Police:

We've already approached a local Metro Toronto Police Detachment (on 2 occasions) and have been advised that no special requirements need to be upheld other than obeying the HTA .

The &quot;tour&quot; is nothing more than a bunch of cars driving in a line. That's it that's all. We're keeping things simple, and for the purposes of this tour, C7 isn't making any claims, warranty, or representation as to the participants, their vehicles, or their behaviour. This is simply a group drive through the country. All participants are strictly responsible for their own vehicles, and are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the respective HTA &amp; Criminal Code legislation.

We are not above the law..and there isn't anything we can possibly do to guard against that...the venue we have arranged for everyone to eat/chill/photos is private grounds that can accomodate the hundreds of cars we are bringing...as far as what happens on the road...we all need to take a step back and stop pretending that we can do something about &quot;managing&quot; the police...

The police blitz on dark knights in previous years never quashed attendance numbers at subsequent years shows...our event won't be any different..stop the panic...things are gonna be fine guys...

Things are an issue if we make them an issue...

We can only manage what we can control...and how we react to what's happening...not what's going to happen..
We are continuing to work diligently to organize an event that is simple, and fun for all the various clubs &amp; their respective members. Our plans are being made to accomodate the large number of vehicles and actual people attending.
Nothwithstanding the objective differences in the various detachments across the province, the Highway Traffic Act's interpretation &amp; application has always been subject to the enforcing officer's discretion. Don't expect anything less than enforcement of applicable laws &amp; regulations as you would when you drive on your own.

I trust no one has the impression that this tour &amp; it's participants is in any way exempt from the application of those respective statutes. If you attend the tour, please be aware that we are all individually responsible for our vehicles, our activity, and our own behaviour (as you would be driving in &amp; out of importfest, Darknights, etc) ...
I hope that didn't come across crass.

I just don't want any members, or participating clubs to have any false impressions or security about being invisible or untouchable on Sunday...I personally don't believe that it's going to be an issue...

Further details will be presented once they have been finalized!

<span style='color:red'>THIS IS THE 2ND UPDATE. FIRST UPDATE LOCATED @ http://forums.c7performance.com/viewtopic.php?t=3707[/color] (http://forums.c7performance.com/viewtopic.php?t=3707[/b]</span>)

Following is a quick list of reminders regarding this years 2003 Fall Tour. Please copy &amp; paste this link, or post to your respective boards to ensure all your members are aware of this helpful update.

Fuel

Please be sure to obtain fuel prior to arriving at the Roll-In locatin (to be announced). During the tour there are several gas stations we will be passing, but there are no scheduled stops for fuel-refill. The total tour is approximately 130km. Please ensure you have a FULL-TANK of gas prior to arriving at the Roll-In Location.

For your convinience the C7 is hosting the roll-in location in an area surrounded by several 24-hour gas stations. Remember rollin is 9am to 10:30, and departure is @ 11am promptly. We are leaving precisely @ 11am.

Washrooms

Public washroom is availalbe at the roll-in location. Remember roll-in is 9am to 10:30, and departure is @ 11am promptly. We are leaving precisely @ 11am.

Car Wash

Coin car wash ($3) and Automated gas station car wash availble in the area as well. Remember roll-in is 9am to 10:30, and departure is @ 11am promptly. We are leaving precisely @ 11am.

Food &amp; Beverages

Food &amp; Beverages, and all other confectionary items will be available for purchase at our stopover. We are scheduling at least 2 hours for stopover to provide ample time for our group to park, grab a bite to eat (this is not a sit-down location) and meet &amp; greet other members, take pics, and enjoy the backdrop of the beautiful fall colours at our stop-over location.

Movement of the Convoy

The group will be moving with the co-ordinated effort of six (6) C7 EMT Toyota Celica's. We will have a lead car, 4 cars spread out throughout the line and a car at the very end. These cars will be in contact with eachother at all times via 2 way FRS Radio on a private channel. The purpose of the private channel is to facilitate the orderly movement of the group. These cars will be visibly marked as tour cars so all participants willl recognize their presence.

Important Reminders While Driving in Tour Formation

DO NOT attempt to speed past cars infront of you. The idea of this tour is for leisure &amp; relaxation. This is not a race. Please participate only if you can oblige by these guidelines.

DO NOT attempt to run through traffic lights to keep up with the convoy infront of you. It is a guarantee that our group will not be moving together in a solid single line formation for the first 30 to 40km of distance, due to city traffic. EMT are in constant communications and are aware of any one that is left behind @ a stop light, and the EMT car at the very end will be sure to keep everybody organized.

FOLLOW the car infront of you. Directions will be provided, but you really only have to follow the car directly infront of you and you won't get lost.

During our intitial departure, please co-operate fully with C7 staff as requested. We are organizing this tour for your benefit, and fun, and we need your full co-operation. If you are asked to move, back up, etc, please follow instructions respectfully.

THIS IS A PRELIMINARY UPDATE ONLY. Further specific updates concerning actual route, Roll-in Location, Stop Over, and Final Destination will be relayed in 48 hours

General

C7 is proud to bring you 2003 Annual Fall Tour. In keeping with the spirit of goodwill to all, C7 is pleased to announce over 12 unique car clubs will be in attendance. Participants will have the opportunity to tour with a convoy of over 200 cars. This tour has been designed to give members of the C7 community at-large the chance to get out of the city for a few hours, and celebrate the fall season.

The Group

Upon departure, you will notice the tour will be guided by a Toyota Celica. The last car in the convoy will also be a Toyota Celica. These two cars will maintain these positioins at all times and be in contact with each other via 2-way radio &amp; cellular phones. All participants are reminded to maintain your position once assigned (positions will be assigned during roll-out assembly).

All drivers are reminded to obey all Highway &amp; Traffic laws, signage, and repsective by-laws. Please remember that both the lead car &amp; tail car will know if someone get's stuck behind a light, and the entire tour will be stopping where safe, if necessary, to allow for the tail car to catchup. A group of 200 cars can stretch over a mile or 2, so don't be surprised if you can't see a friend, or a buddy in your rearview...

Route Details

The route wil take us into the heart of Caledon, through the Hockley Valley, where we will be stopping aproximately 1.5hrs into the tour for snacks, pics, meet &amp; greet. Our stop has been organized with a local merchant, and parking &amp; porta-potty's have been arranged to accomodate our group. Please be repsectful while @ our lunch-time stopover. We have made arrangements for the merchant to accomdate our group size. You are free to purchase your lunch, snacks, etc at your own discretion. We will be stopping for at least 1.5 hours.

Following our stopover, we will be moving on through Hockley Valley, and into the Forks of the Credit River. There will be no stopping of the convoy after our rest stop in Hockley Valley. Unforunately the local village of Bellefountain can not accomodate the parking, food &amp; beverage requirements of a group our size this year. Upon a slow drive through Bellefountain the road changes into a southbound route that takes back to Mississauga where the 401 &amp; 407 are both immediately accessible.

The tour ends at this point. Detailed maps &amp; directions will be provided on the day of the tour during roll-in. Many participants may consider joing C7 for dinner @ a Swiss Chalet along the route after the tour ends. This is optional and not part of the Official C7 2003 Fall Tour, but as always everybody's welcome. No special arrangements have been made with the restaurant to accomdate the entire group

If anyone has good raw DV footage they can send me, that would be sa-weet. Especially from anyone who managed to stay with the main pack of cars.

I don't want DV tapes, I only use Panasonic Master MQ tapes in my deck. Alternative brands use different lubricants and I don't want to risk ruining my tape heads (expensive repair job). So, if you have a fast connection I'd like to download good captured clips, or perhaps burn them on a CD (or DVD? I'll pay for the disc)

I'll throw it all together and make a wee vid - widescreen most likely, Quicktime format. I'll experiment with VCD as well, but that's dependant on what DVD player you have at home. Brent's solo run VCD didn't work in his Sony DVD player...
