heat shields

I know there are some threads on here about the heat shields rattling and all, but my question is.. are there any heat shields that require replacing, if rusted out? Or can they all be removed and stay off the car?

Removed my catalytic converter heat shield a couple weeks ago.. just want to make sure I don't need to put one back on.

i've also got none, other than the one on the first cat, its still soild for now.

even parked in a few fields with long grass with no shield on the 2nd cat, haven't caught fire yet. :p

Okay thanks guys... great to know! It's the second heat shield to be removed... the other one stayed off, I just wanted to be sure the c.c. didn't require one to be on there.

this go the same for the header heat shield? that one isn't needed either?

Took mine off a while back as it had rusted out and was rattling like crazy. So nice to not sound like a rattle snake. LOL

If you remove one on the ex system, make sure that there is nothing that is going to melt
