2003 P5 145km Once in a while when I start my P5 there is a lot and I mean a lot of whiteish/bluish smoke comming out of the exhaust, only lasts about 30sec or less, then there is no sign of smoke from the exhaust. This only happens after it has sat all night, doesn't happen every time just once in a while.
Any thoughts as to the problem?

Thanks in advance.

If it is valve seals will it do any harm to the motor? other than this cloud of blue smoke once in awhile it runs great. It burns about a liter of oil every 4000k

as long as you keep an eye on your oil level you shoudl be ok. 1L every 4000k? that seems like very little considering all the smoke you're seeing on startup. you could try adding some lucas in with your oil and see if that helps. it won't fix the issue but it might help to cut down your consumption.

I was burning 1L per 1000k (moreso in the end) for about 3 years. recently swapped the motor though.

the smoke show was rediculous every time i started it up.

check your intake tube for oil build up.

If you have a a lot of oil in there, it may be the PCV valve or something that is stuck open and blowing oil from the crankcase into the intake manifold
