View Full Version : Rear calliper

So, my rear left caliper is seized. I need to slam it with a 3lb sledge hammer just to rotate around the slider and there's no hope of actually sliding it (I have only tried with it still attached to the car).

Partsource wants 160+60core for this thing! That's ROBBERY.

Anybody have a better source for a rear left calliper, or a better idea of how to deal with this?

My only thought right now is to take the calliper completely off and use my bench vice to separate the slider, then wd40, brake clean & re-lube.

Car is at 200,000 (turned just this week) so the caliper may be considered shot...but not at 160 bucks replacement cost. That's nuts.

Contact MOSI (Mike_Moss, thekid) for quotes on parts.

Great guys IRL and super good prices.

That is pretty nuts considering I got 2 for just over 200
I went with a small parts place. Another thing is that every once and a while crappy tre dose a buy one get the other side half off
As for fixing It good luck. Check to see if the Allen key adjuster is seized if it Is just go get new ones. Oh and make sure to take off the little piece that holds the e brake sleeve back the new caliper dosenot have it.

Kevin, I've already emailed Brian - he's my go-to for all parts.

Jak, thanks for the tip on the ebrake sleeve. Where did you go for your pair?

Is that a shop or a parts supplier? Got a website? Google came up with corporate re-link crap pages.
