As most of you know, I went out to Cayuga, to drag my car for the very first time. Let me just tell you know, it's 8:51 and I'm sitting at my mothers house on Lake Erie, and not at the drag-strip. On my very first run, I broke my alternator belt. Crap! Crap! Crap! How pissed was I? But check this out, the place has NO payphones!! WTF?! And the people I asked to use their cell-phones, none could get a connection. So anyways, my mom lives about 10 minutes from there, so I decide to try and drive there. Ya right, I got like maybe 2 km before all the shit was going dim. So I pull into someones' farm, and ask to use the phone. The dude drives me to my moms' house(where I am now), and my car is still at his place. It just so happens that my brother is an ex mechanic, and he owes me big-time. So needless to say, I won't be able to make it to the START of the slalom. Which totally sucks ass, cause it's gonna be the last one of the year. I promise I'll some how make it out to watch, even if I have to drive my moms Bonneville there. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Sorry guys, I really wanted to race.
btw, how it happened: totally my fault. During my very first race, I dropped the clutch @4500rpm, then nothing but wheelspin, and the tach shot up to fuel cut-off. I decided to keep the revs up, because letting off too much, would bog it. I heard the snap, and saw rubber fly out of the corner of my eye. I kept at it anyways, and some frikkin how(with no alternator, and a horrible reaction time), managed to pull of a 18.2@81Mph. So at least that was encouraging. I know with proper traction, and a working car, I'll be able to know a second and a half off that. Oh well, that's life. I can't wait to see you all tomorrow.....
