We have a 06' Ford Freestyle and the check engine light came on today for the first time since we had it.
Code Reads C0400
Looked up to see if i could find any info on it but no luck.
Does anyone by chance know what this code means?

The C0400 chassis code could be a light burned out somewhere, or connected to something that's electrically attached to the chassis.....? Just guessing here, but check all the parking, tail, headlights, etc....

definetly an electrical chassis code - but when the third digit is a 4 it is usually part of the emission system, maybe an electric solenoid or something?

I would call Ford and ask them what the code is all about.. what does your OBD scanner manual say? Mine comes with a CD included with manufacture specific codes.

I don't know why but I'm thinking you should check your gas cap. Lol. Don't know why but that rings a bell. I still think it's gas cap though. Full service recently? Or let someone else pump while you went in and paid? Have you tried clearing it to see when it comes back? Could have been a temp code that was temp related lol. EGR?

Can you give me anymore info on the car? I'll be hanging with a Ford Master Tech in an hour or so. He's willing to help you.

C0400 is not a code for that vehicle. Try rescanning it. Went through it with a Ford Master Tech for ya. Re-scan it and post or send me the code and I can tell you what it is. If it's P0400 it's EGR I believe. I looked at a printout of all the codes and that is non existent.

yeah was strange.. i cleared it and it came back
getting a P0106. Shows that it's a map sensor.
all i've seen online is a bunch of universal sensors.. i'll give the dealer a call tmrw and find out how much they have it going for.

MAP sensor or MAF? are you sure it said MAP? C0400 came back or the P0106 came on after clearing? If you give me more info I am happy to help.

First time it was a C0400
cleared it and then yesterday it came back but came up as P0106 and i cleared it again and nothing has come back yet.
P0106 is a MAP sensor not MAF.
