So on my way to work my muffler popped a seam, so looking at having it replaced with a resonator and a tip. I work for Mazda and we have some random mufflers and resonators laying around. I don't wanna go crazy because I'll be swapping motors out mid June, and if I have time boost will be going in as well.

I was thinking about putting a 2 1/4 18" resonator followed by approx a foot of pipe and a fancy tip.will it be really loud? I don't care about a bit of a increase just not really loud!

Almost forgot the car is a 94 mx-3 v6.

do it, won't be that much louder, when you remove cat and add header followed by straight pipe, that's when it gets loud. :-D

It'll be loud. If you're the only one in the car really it's not a big deal. If you cart people around more than a couple times a month, think resonator and muffler. Lol note on one car I run just mufflers, no cats, no resonators but on the daily, it has regular exhaust. I've been through a few different set ups, mufflers are needed
