Aghh! Asking the Protege Club to keep an eye out for a Tempo/Topaz?? Aghh! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/baaa.gif That's like asking the Porsche Club of America, to keep their eyes out for a Fiero.

From one Mark to another....please don't buy a Tempo/Topaz, V6 or no V6. They are one of the most problematic cars on the road. Not sure if you've ever owned one but I know people who have. One family was constantly pouring money into theirs. When I drove it, I couldn't believe how bad it was. Another friend had one from new and ending up torching it - yes - torching it. Drove it out into a deserted area and poof! Somehow it caught fire. Not that I recommend that but he said it was such a lemon, and couldn't get the dealer to work with it.
So please, find something worthwhile, like an early/mid-90's V6 626 if you need a V6, unless you like the idea of torching a Ford product yourself.
Cheers, Mark http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

.....Whoaa!
A Ford Tempo/Topaz?
Just how much do you plan on spending? and are you a mechanic at a Junkyard with lots of spare Ford parts. That is probably your best explanation.
Have some honor and buy a mid to earlier 90's Nippon Engineered vehicle. Accords, Camry, Legends, Maxima's Lead the pack in midsize, Civics, Corrolla, Sentras. But you want a true V6 eh?
Some of the above had a decent reliablility record and that type of engine, but sheer age on any vehicle catches up.
Good Luck!!!

ya want v6? no prob! buy a 1st gen GT and do the swap to a KL-ZE engine with me and Dave. (another GT owner from paris that cant seem to get registered on this board properly) we're pondering and making up plans in our heads...it should be fun when we do it! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Tempo? I swear Ford had there worker blind folded
when they made those crappy cars!
Personally i'd rather own a K car than a tempo!

Ford is garbage unless your talking the SVT line. Its just too bad that Mazda vehicles will be littered with FORD parts...yikes!!!
