OK all you PS2 owners... let's have a little challenge for GT3.

Car: Civic Type R? Integra Type R?
Settings: Simulation Tires, ASM off, TCS off

Track(s): Complex String, SS Route 5, SS Route 5 wet, Seattle Circuit, Tokyo Route 246

Actually .. I'm not sure if you can run all of those tracks for time trials or not .. can you? I know they only list a few. The Civic might not be fast enough so perhaps the Integra Type R would be a better choice.

Fastest time wins.

Great Idea!

Lets pick one track from the run n setting section in your garage so you can get on and off the track fast and change your settings and stuff. I dont think you can adjust your settings in arcade mode. I think you drive your car the way you bring it to the track(not sure).

Maybe a different track every week and on sunday we post our best times?  Are mods allowed or do you mean stock?

How do I post screen shots? How do I get a screen shot?

Actually in arcade mode you can load a car from your garage and do the Free Run mode, and that lets you change settings same as in the Test tracks. So that is probably the best mode. (I just tried it out to make sure)

I think if we're sticking with a certain car then there should be a restrictive list of mods to keep it more about drivin'

Ya do you think that we should try it with stock? I play arround with it stock all the time I find it really fun! Just turn off those traction controlls! And only simulation tires.

Have you guy tried any of the online gaming yet for the PS2.
I bet it's like watching a game of "Pong" from the sidelines.
Apparently anyone with shitty dial up can play online and slow up everything.

With Xbox you have to have broadband or DSL.

i now if u go 2 your garauge then tracks or something of that nature you can slecet anytrack with any car and screw around and ders lap times

all the other tracks are more fun but also have their own tricky parts.

I play Cs quite often.. I go by guybelowmesux or GT***H3ro.

My time on the complex string is 6:16.956  stock integrea with simulation tires no ASM no TCS.. That should be easy to beat since I made a few errors. I'm gona edit this everytime i beat that record.

I used to LAN UT for a while, but only a 1v1 network vs a friend.

to play cs you need your own copy of half life...about $40 ..still...after like 6 years..anyways...and the system requirements arn't that high

hehe.. you got ripped off man i got my copy of half-life for $15 at compucenter.

Anywho, you can spend $50 for CS retail or you can buy Half-life for $15 then go to www.counter-strike.net and download the newest mod. (1.5 or was it 1.6?) Then you're going to need the newest patch for Half-life. (www.sierra.com or the auto update program)

Now you're all set.

Rowan I can get you a copy of CS if you want. But I can't get you a valid CD-key. The generators don't work, though the hardcore hackers have found a way to steal them from other players.

does the server have to run a unique copy of the software or could i install mine on my desktop box and the server? i know q3 is kinda picky about that sort of thing

Yes I do my runs in the free runs. I cant get the cars from my garage when I go to the Time trials section.

If you didnt buy your simulation tires you dont have them. You have to buy the car in simulation mode and go to tune shop and buy them.

They arent like any of the other tires in the game. By purchasing them you are actually selecting more realistic driving physics. Try them and you will find you have to do a lot more braking and be a lot smoother.
