I just signed up Kieswetter Mazda yesterday and they have agreed to hook up the club with a 15% discount on parts and labour. This dealership is located in Waterloo for our WEST-WESTSIDE crew, so I hope you people out there appreciate what our contact, Mel Kieswetter Jr., is doing for us. Here's some contact information.

Just wondering, if Morningside Mazda will be a sponsor in the future?

baldwin: not likely.
We have chosen these dealerships b/c they were enthusiastic about sponsoring and helping the club out in anyway they can. for some of these dealers, they have come to us (Avante, Kieswetter). for others, members have recommended them to be sponsors. we have also chosen these dealers b/c they are spread around the GTA. hopefully members will take advantage of all the club discounts and give these dealerships some business b/c these dealerships are supporting us alot.

hehe okay. Morningside Mazda is so close to my school, and I was getting parts from them this week. That's why I was wondering.

Excellent - thanks Chops for looking after this.
Now anyone on the board in the GTA - Golden Triangle - not Greater Toronto Area - will benefit. I'm sure there are a few "quiet" people who scan the board from time to time in KW, Guelph, and Cambridge.
I have had positive experiences with this dealer and they carry a decent array of factory and aftermarket parts for Proteges, Miatas, trucks, etc. My experiences with the Waterloo dealer are the complete opposite.
Glad they are onboard.

Baldwin,

Don't waste your money at Morningside Mazda.  Everytime I had gone there, I had experienced poor service.  That is why I do not go there anymore.... true it is convenient, but drive an extra few km to Scarborough Mazda.

I only picked up parts and didn't get service from there. I'll keep your words in mind. Thanks Jeremy. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I just had a newbie question regarding these sponsors......how do we get these discounts? How do they know that I am a member of the Toronto Protege Club? Do they just take your word for it, or do you have to sign up? If it helps, I bought my P5 from North Toronto Mazda (now Avante Mazda) and plan on servicing it there. Thanks for any help.

You may have to take your car to Avante to service b/c in order to get the club discount at North Toronto, you had to sign up with them on August 10th. So Avante is where you would go to recieve your discount.

Apparently our discount doesn't apply to oil changes at scarboro mazda. I was there on Saturday, but was refused the discount for my oil change.

I know this the gta area, let's see if you can swing a mazda dealer in Windsor, where I live or even London. If not waterloo isn't too far away. Imports need to be recognized down here, it's tough in the big three city. Thanks for trying

I actually bought my car at Erin Mills Mazda, however they own both Ontario Mazda (also in Mississauga) and Morningside Mazda. I got 2 years free maintenance and can use it at Morningside Mazda, since it is owned by one and all. Is their service really that bad? It's not like I am spending my money since it's free (though i consider it included in the price of the car), but I still want good service.. What exactly is wrong with their service? Because Erin Mills Mazda is a good 40 kms from my house... and very time consuming with rush hour and all.

it's all about how well they treat you and your car. honestly, the work they do on your car is usually the same (depending on what it is of course), but for oil changes and general maintenance, it won't vary much between dealers. where it varies is how the customer service reps, managers and mechanics treat you. for example, i take my car to Westowne for maintenance. they greet me when i come in, ask if there's anything special requests by me, ask if there's anything to fix on the car, ask how the car is running, offer a shuttle to drive me somewhere and they ALWAYS call me to tell me that my car is ready. a few weeks ago, i had to leave the car there over nite and i asked them if they can park it inside. the next morning i walked with a service rep down into the underground parking garage to get my car. that really impressed me. any other place would've probably just parked it outside. again, i'd rather spend my money at a dealer that knows how to treat you right. i've heard enough stories of dealers treating customers badly.... and that's why i don't go there.

Smurf...

I am not going to bore you with my details. By all means you can still go to any dealership that you want to go to, and for your luck they will give you the best service.

However, I had below average service each time I went. As a consumer I was not happy, so I took my business elsewhere.

the discount doesn't apply on oil changes cause Mazda Canada set a price of $24.95 for all dealerships to follow....it's already a special price.....and it makes it fair for all Mazda customers...

At avante you can save 17% on parts only, and it can apply on the 8K/16K/24K/48k/96k service intervals....although on the smaller services you're only saving a few dollars on the oil and filter since there aren't any other parts involved....

every dealer has their own guidelines when it comes to discounting....so take your time to discuss with your dealer and what they can do for you...

At Avante Mazda (both stores) you don't need cards....just mention you are part of the club and if the discount is applicable we will do so....please remember to mention your member name you use on the board when you come to Avante Mazda (both stores) ....especially when you come to buy parts.....i record it down on each invoice to keep a tab on whos actually on the board....

thanks to all those who have visited whether for parts or service or just to say hello.....!

Raymond
