The car is a 2003 Camry SE, 4 cylinder. Apparently the O2 sensors are a different part depending on where it was built. I'm doing a little work on the car to help out a family friend and the car needs a new sensor. Now is there a way I can get this lady to easily check where the car was built without me driving across town. Is tgere something fairly obvious? Assume no documentation from the sale as it's a second owner and there's no manuals etc. Is it easily identifiable on the door jam sticker?

A Toyota parts department could probably send you in the right direction for the o2 sensor if you've got the VIN.

90% chance it was built in Georgetown, Kentucky. Most of the domestic market Camrys have come from there since 1988 when the plant opened! Also, most of the time the door sticker will say "Built in USA" or "Built in Japan" or similar.
Georgetown has 2 plants (K1 and K2) building the Camry for the NADM, very few, if any, are imported.

^ Now the Corollas will come to you from Mississippi soon! lol And the Camry could be from Lafayette, IN! Toyta is juggling all sorts of them in NA!

the first digit on the vin is the answer,

if the first digit of vin is a "J" then its japanese built. USA is using either "1" or "5", canada uses "2" and Mexico "3" If it is a camry it will be a 1 or j and tell you which factory.

most camry VINs start with 5

its 2003 so they were still using the 1 then, the 5 was last few years
