There's not much room to work with. I think you need a shorter or a more flexible screwdriver.

ok...i didn't take out ne screws at all....
i j/ unhook 2 metal cables (they look like coat hanger w/ loops)....go near the gas/brake pedal, dig twd centre of it,
u'll c one metal cable hookin' onto a white rod(tat's the fan speed) and go to the passenger side and dig twd centre again and u will c another cable hooked on to a white rod(that is the temp)....(better to use some flash lite to see wat u r doin')unhook them...then u can take the damn thing out...and remember, disconnect the hazard lite

Use a ratchet with a phillips bit. The ratchet should take up all of 1 inch on space. Don't get frustrated - get methodical.

the problem with the ratchet is that the angle is 90 degrees, i cant fit the bit perfectly into the screw cuz the handle of the drive cant be perpendicular to the screw, then i put on the flexible/turnable head but then that's too fat to get the screw it the screw is rite beside a "wall"
but i did go and check the black cables, i think that just might work.. lot easier then trying to reach the screws, just pull out the circle and the whole thing comes out, then from there i can unscrew...... ... too easy to be true....

just regular homedepot canadian tire paint, as long as it can stand up to approx 60 degrees, i'm guessing its fine, so...
