Does anyone know if stiffer engine mounts are available for the P5.

I heard somewhere that changing them to a harder bushing will eliminate that 1st gear bounce. (and before anyone [MP5navy] makes a smartass remark, yes I know how to drive standard)

Has anyone tried it?

That first gear bounce is caused by some screwed
in Tranny - my Car in going to be going into the
dealership for a week in October to fix that!

Shaun.

Do need to take the defense! We all have this 1st gear hop myself included.

Nick keep us updated on this one - if it is indeed a warranty issue.

Good one Crusin'.
You can also get those mounts through Mazda Motorsports.

I'm guessing that switching out the motor mounts would be a big job.....not a do it at home type of deal. Correct?

No not at all. You can do it in your driveway. Someone in protege club or Mp3 forums did it. Someone also mentioned Mazdaspeed making engine mounts. They all said that you feel and hear a bit more engine vibration though. I think some guys just changed the front engine mount because it supposidly makes the most difference. Its the easiest to change as well.

Unfortunately I doubt that Mazda will warranty the stupid engine shudder. It was even in my moms 87 323 wagon http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

wouldnt you have to lift the engine or something? or can it be done quite easliy? if so....that is my next purchase... I smell group buy.

Does anyone have any links to other boards that discuss this topic?

I would be interested Jason in a group buy if the price was right (noticed there was no price on AWR site). If its to pricey I will just get custom ones made.
