Hey guys just bought a new deck for the pro
just wanted to know if theres a special way to remove an aftermarket single din deck?

^ Generally the decks will have keys that are inserted along the side to unclip them from the bracket that is holding them in.

As in it's attached to the deck?
and the one in the car right now is a JVC.... something
can't remember the exact model aha

no.. it's a tool; that inserts on both sides and then the deck is removed..
i pulled out many decks and never used one... drop me a pm..on where in brampton u located.. i shud be able to help u.

is there a substitute i can use?
a screwdriver or something?

i used a wire hanger. try to find a picture of the stock deck and see how it clips in.
pretty much anything to push the metal tabs out will do.

Colour matching will be your best friend....

but srsly... when you are facing the deck, there should be a slot on either side of the deck that is parallel to the side. slide something down there to push the clip off and pull the deck out. You need to leave whatever you jam in there in while you jimmy out the deck but it should be pretty obvious.

theres probably a trim piece right around the deck itself, take the trim off you will see the slots

Alright so the deck is out thanks to a trusty butter knife and hanger
