A complete longblock should not cost you more then a grand. You can probably find some for significantly less then that depending on how much you want to pay.

I've only heard bad things from Tiger. No experience there though.

Try this guy: Engine Land Japanese (http://maps.google.ca/places/ca/mississauga/bramalea-rd/7050/-engine-land-japanese-auto-parts) (Steve)

As with most shops, it is probably best to visit them in person - don't waste your time on the phone.

Steve hooked me up with my KLZE.

Also, the price on the engine is very dependent on supply and demand. If it is rare, the price will likely be higher, if it is in high demand, it will likely be higher. It also depends how bad you want it. Ultimately, set the price for yourself...and stick to it!

I remember a couple people commenting on Tiger in KJS's "knock knock who's there" thread.

Why not just get an fs with a spun bearing for next to nothing, and just rebuild it? I ended up throwing out my fs because no one would buy it for $100, didn't even get an offer. lol Just rering and new (oversized) bearings?

may i inquire as to the need for a "jdm" engine? our engines are all from japan. what are you goals with the engine exactly and why can't it be done with a regular fs-de thats rebuilt? you can upgrade anything inside it to be whatever you want. it would be easier IMO than tracking down a rare engine that in the end, is basically the same and has probably been used or abused.

its not really the need for a jdm engine i was more or less looking for a clean lower km engine. just seams easier to find that from japan. not looking for anything rare just something clean. fs-ze would be nice but i dont want the high compression and dont want to rebuild either at this point.

^ i feel that. i heard somewhere that you can only have your car in the road in japen untill about 70,000km's due to emissions regulations or something. hence most imported engines having less than that.

ya something like that and or their regulations for emissions are so strict that it was to hard to keep most older cars on the road but who really knows
