I'm just a Mazda fan in General, so what does everyone think of this badboy?

I've seen one driving bye, grey color. The front looks a bit too pointy. The back lights are alteza style but there is no clear to it. All the clear is red instead.

Mazda6 is pretty! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif I have seen a few pics from europe and the colours are really nice for the car. Especially titanium grey, the car looked somewhat metallic. In Japan, there's already an autoexec kit for it. You can see it by checking the autoexec site.
I have actually been waiting and keeping up to date with this car for almost a year and a half now. Found out about this car when Mazda announced the car was to be launched in Japan. It is not out in Canada yet, but Mazda has said the M6 will come out January 2003, which is only several months away. As to which version will come out, I wasn't too sure. There's a sedan, wagon, and 5-door hatchback. Rumors have it that all versions are to come out at the same time or Mazda might delay the 5-door hatchback for another 6-9 months.
As for pricing, Mazda hasn't made any announcement about it yet but it is to replace the 626 and in competition with Camrys and Accords. Sooo I'm guessing it could be anywhere from $25,000 to $36,000 for the top model?
Bumble G: Where did you see one?!? Are you sure it was a M6?

As far as I know, they come out in December. I've read some articles about it, where auto editors got to test the 4 cyl one in Europe. It's a 2.3L I believe, with 150 hp(hopefully that engine finds its way to the next gen Protege). The V6 has 210 hp. They say the chassis is fantastic(of course, it's Mazda), but we'll have to wait and see what the V6 can do. And the clear Altezza will not make it to North America.

In Canada, Mazda official statement said that the M6 is to be launch in January 2003. There were rumors that the M6 was to be out during December in America, but I think they have pushed back the date to January as well.
As for the engine, you can choose from a 2.3L 4 cylinder with 160hp or a 3.0L V6 with 220hp.
Errr the clear altezza better make it!!! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif I don't see why Mazda would take the effort to replace them.

Some bad news, I read that the cars coming to North America will be detuned(North America has some serious pollution control), and both versions will have 10 less hp. Sucks to be us

Also, it's just called the '6'. Replacement for the 626. Here is an auto editors take on it.

Oh, that makes sense now http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif BMW is going to be making the 6 Series again, and they're going to obviously make an M6, so I got a little confused...

We'll see how everything turns out. Supposedly at the Paris auto show this week they are unveiling the Mazdaspeed6 which is purpoted to be 250BHP, AWD, Turboed 2.3L 4-cyl. Let's hope they release that like they release the Mazdaspeed Protegé. Talk about a way to combat those Impreza WRXs and Lancer Evos... http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
All things I hear are for January for Canada. And the Mazda6 is supposed to replace the Millennia as well as the 626, it's also supposed to start pricing at slightly lower than 626 to above it. So we'll see how pricing goes.

The Mazdaspeed6 is at least a year or two away, and we don't even know if is coming to Canada at all. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I heard we will be seeing it anytime between
November 2002 to Feb 2003

I'd bet my money on it, that it will come here. There is totally a market for it. Just look at the response to the MP3

Let's just hope it does. Oh btw, in January the only thing coming is the Sedan. The hatch and wagon will not be here in January, they are slated for later in the year, IF, they come here at all. In North America hatch sales have been typically low, but with the advent of the Protegé5 and its ilk, lets hope that it shows that we like hatches too. That's the one I'll prolly end up getting, that is unless I hear the Mazdaspeed6 is coming, then I'll wait for that...although the Mazdaspeed6 is rumoured only to be the sedan version. Why, when the hatch is the sportier version everywhere else. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Demands and interests can certainly drive companies into a market, but the problem is Canada has very strict by laws in letting cars in compare to other countries. Hps are reduce just to pass emissions. A lot of people like the skyliner but god knows when that is coming. It took quite a bit of time for the WRX to get here, and is it true the STI is coming as well? Can anyone confirm that? And when is the Evo coming out? this year or next year?

STI should be here soon... My bro has one comeing hopefully. You know. Sign up on the web site if you are willing to put down a downpayment.. " Shit like that.

Damn!!
That Hatchback or notchback 6, looks like an Lexus IS300 spinoff that I would buy from Mazda which is much cheaper.
No disrespect to my P5, but I wished I could have waited. But what does a brother know?
