I want to install HID H7 in my wife's MK4 Golf TDI (2006). I know the protege DRLs have to be disabled to run HIDs because of low voltage to the HIDs. I've got a thread going on vwvortex for this, but I know there are lots of smart guys here as well. Need to know if the MK4 low beam DRL run at a lower voltage, or is HID truly plug & play without DRL disable in her car?

Im pretty sure it's the same voltage, but you have to watch the lights durning starting the car.... Its fine in my VW's cause i always use the parking brake....

Careful with the electric's in that thing, the door harnesses crack and break over time. I've had to repair mine a few times...
I also have had an airbag light for a year!
