What conditions do you want to drive them in?
Plowed urban areas?
Deep backcountry roads?
My fav: a little of both but focus on dry winter roads.

I have the Toyo tires. I didn't know snow traction could be so good. I'd buy them again. I've had Pirelli Snowsport, Nokian Haka 2 and Viking Snowtech in the past to compare them to.

Just for the record, the best "winter" tires are the Pilot Alpin PA3's. Hands down. (notice I said winter tires, not snow tires...cause they're not so good in deep snow). I got proof to back it up!

^ +1 on Blizzaks. If they don't have it right now, some time soon Costco will offer $70 off a set of Bridgestones.

If you want the very best, and have the money, I would agree 100%. There are, of course, very capable alternatives.

Federal Himalayas have a WICKED tread on them. Very agressive and also very soft, good for ice and what not. Only thing is that i've noticed on customer cars is that because the tread is so small they wear very oddly... Really choppy
