Hey Sondra.[protege5girl]
Haven't heard to much about it..
So I thought I'd ask...

How is your car doing?
Did the cops ever find out who stole your rims?
I think I read somewhere before when it happened that there was other damage to your car...Correct me if I am wrong...

I know your insurance treated you well, so did you get new rims again?
What was the outcome....

Sorry if it seems like I'm being nosey...Just a concerned fellow toprotege member...

No new rims yet. I'm thinking of waiting until next spring, but it might be earlier...

The only other damage was to the window moulding and side skirts. Moulding replaced, skirts are waiting to be installed at the body shop which will be done as soon as my cast gets taken off.

No the cops never found out, I doubt the even tried finding out. As awful as it was that this happened, at least I get new rims, and this time i will get ones with the right offset! hehe

Ok thats it. Sondra. Ever since you said you skate this stupid story has been in my head. Its totally true and to this day I still have to fight cracking a smile whenever it pops into my head. I think all the skaters and X skaters alike will apreciate it.

About 5 or 6 years ago in college there was this girl named Sandra. She was 17 and the rest of us were arround 20-22. She had the most annoying lagh. It was kind of like the pilsbery dough boys lagh exept more girly. She had just started skating so she had never ridden a half pipe before.

A few of us would go down to Rampsterdam on Wednsdays and skate untill they kicked us out at arround midnight. So this one time she was there and we were giving her tips on riding the half pipe. She had guts so she learned to drop in pretty fast but she didnt know what to do with herself when she got to the other transition.

Ill never forget this. You know when someone is learning to drop in at a skatepark usually people dont mind letting them take their time to set up for a drop in? Well this time people were especially patient since Sandra was pretty cute. So she sets up her board and takes a breath......then another......then she looks arround at the 15 guys standing on the opposite deck waching her. Then she just went for it and did one of the most natural looking drop ins I have ever seen.

But when she got to the other side she rolls up the transition and gets way ahead of her board and it shoots out from under her towards the other end of the half pipe. Leaving her in mid air. Now I wish I could say she got her hands down in time but she just closed her eyes and smacked her face right off the masonite. I was standing on the ground right beside where she hit so when her head bounced off in mid air she opened her eyes and they were already pointing right at mine. I swear she was looking me right in the eye as soon as she opened her eyes. I was like http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif and she (out of total shock) smiles the biggest smile and unleashes the stupid pilsbery lagh! In mid bounce!

I was like " http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif You OK? http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif "  And shes nodding her head yes going " Hee! he he he".

I dont remember but I think she was pretty much done for the night.

One of those "you had to be there" stories. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

HAhaha, Simon..I did pretty much the same thing!! We used to hang out at Jarry Park in Montreal. And I had mastered the little baby 4' pipe.....and i wanted to try the 10'. I got up there and was sooooooo scared. It doesn't look as high from the sides. Anyway, I was a bit of a hot shot back in my younger days, and there were tons of cute skater guys around, so I dropped in, basically closed my eyes and before I knew what was happening I was on the other side, feet and board flew away from my body, and I landed with my stomach on the rail. I"m sure people heard the BANG miles away. Somehow I wasn't hurt and I serisouly thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Oooooh those always look the WORST! Dont you love those big bangs from wood half pipes? It sounds kind of like a big WWF style slam from the top ropes. http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
