i have the ractive intake...i've noticed that ractive is now offering a new filter with a heat shield and also a cai extension for it's existing short intake.
i want the best for my car so is this worth getting? will this improve my intake air flow/performance? http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dontgetit.gif

they've had that for a while. but i dont see why you can't make one of those extentions yourself. I've seen it in person and its just a rubber elbow (thickness of the rubber on the filter "neck"), and after that its just regular heating/airconditioning type tubing.

if you have the ractive filter already, try going to max motorsports (dixie/dundas - thats where i saw the extention in person) and check the construction out (they have one on display). then just zip over to canadian tire and start constructing! http://msg.toprotege.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

talk to jeff (lockdownp5). from what i have heard it is better to go with the conversion mike (chopstick) did in the how to section. i have the sri (short ram intake) with the heat shield from ractive and it is fine.

thanks guy , i'll probably get the filter and the extension. i'm just concerned that the filter is sucking in hot air and that might result in a power loss.
hmmm, on the other hand maybe i'll sell my ractive and get an injen intake...
