saw this "timing advance kit" on eBay for the P5's. wondering if anyone has installed one? or knows anything about it?

You get what you pay for so save your money. I would not recommend this at all.

On something as sophisticated as your Mazda, playing with detonation and timing can cause a big noise under the hood. Go for the heftier wires. I'm thinking that you should only add one new item to the engine at a time, so that you know what it enhances or restricts. :|

I'd be willing to splurge on some Dyno time with some people, for a day to play around with ignition timing. Fill your tank with Premium, then advance it a bit, do a dyno run, advance it a bit, do a dyno run. When we hear some pinging, retard the time one-degree, and we're good to go. Also, if anyone has adjustable cam gears, a dyno is a great place to get the most out of your motor.....
