New Guy here..

Hi Gang, Josh Cosford here, and I'm new to the club. I'm 27, and I live way out west, in Hamilton. I drive a 1993 Mazda Protege GT(142 000km), which is pretty rare, and only made in Canada. Just like the Canadian GT, based on the 2002 ES, it is really just giving us Canadian customers what the Americans already had. My GT is really just the American LX, which has the BP-DE DOHC motor(125 hp & 114 lb/ft torque), 4 wheel discs, 14" alloys and all the power options(unfortunately, mine has no AC). What the Canadian GT has though, which makes it strictly Canadian, is the sport interior, standard rear spoiler, and cheesy red, exterior moulding trim(which I plan to keep, just as the GTs signature). What is unique also, is the that it has the same front end, which a year later, became standard on all Proteges. It has the 323 style hood, and headlights.

   The car is pretty quick, and the handling is amazing. It's nearly neutral, and I can invoke lift-throttle oversteer driving at the edge(partly due to the fact, I have far better tires on the front, but it's still lots of fun). Braking isn't neck-snapping, but it's adequete, and there are lots of upgrades available for the Gen 1. One more thing. If I dare to part with $4200, I can drop in the BP-ZET, which in its best form, puts out about 210 hp....hehe..maybe one day.

  Feel free to ask me any questions about my car, or the 1st Generation(this car, is the Grand-dad to all you P5, ES and dare I say, most directly to MP3 guys), as I know quite a bit about them. Hey, and if you ever want to take it for a boot, just let me know...I won't say no...I'll say, "Don't be afraid of the redline..."

Welcome Josh. Thanks for the history on the Gen 1. I have little knowledge of the other gens of Pros. Most of us have the Pro5 but it's great when the other models and gens get out to the meets!

Okay... do you kids really wanna make fun of me? Fine I'm cool with that. But I must clarify that I never flirted with Amy nor did I have any intention of doing so. When did I ever say I wanted Casper's chick?! I think the Doc is putting words in my mouth. The only girls that demand my attention in this club are CandyAss and Angel - these are my only interests. Amy is fine and all but any girl who finds Kurt attractive must have bad taste. Afterall Kurt aways wears the same thing - orange pants and Oakley sunglasses everytime I see him.

Oh and CandyAss - I don't like the smurf jokes - they hurt my feelings. You rarely say anything nice anymore....
