Hey,
Im looking for a GOOD body shop.
I am buying a front lip, and want to get it molded into the msp front end and painted to match the car.
How much roughly do you guys think it would cost?

Quite a few people here recommend Seneca in Mississauga. Not sure on how much it would cost as I'm sure each job is slightly different.

He said "GOOD" body shop. Seneca is hardly good, maybe "ok" at best. They cut corners and do a very half assed job in many cases. Sure they'll do whatever you want for the price you're willing to pay, but in the end it's the same as everything else, you get what you pay for!

I have never been so I can't attest for Seneca but I have seen Frankie's freshly painted car and I must say they did an awesome job. Car is mint.

I've been to Senca a number of times. Last I went, they pretty much did the whole front of the car. Found a paint drip on the fender, went back and they fixed it.
My new car is in right now, I went to check it out yesterday. There was some fish-eyes, or contaminants on some of the paint. He promised me it would be to my satisfaction when I pick it up today.
The owner, Robert, is a really cool guy, and for whatever you may hear about them, he has always made sure I was happy before I gave him the cash.
I'll post up after tonight when I get the car for un update.

Do you know any good body shop?
I honestly do not mind paying an extra few bucks. Body work is not something I want to cheap out on.
Also do you think it will be hard for them to match the Titanium?

He's referring to the 2003.5 MSP lip that came stock on your car. You will need to remove it if you want to install a different lip. I think MazdaP5 has the Autoexe replica lip.

Got the car back yesterday and Im very happy with it. Not a dent, scratch or rust spot to be found. I found a paint glob in the corner of one of the headlights on the bumper, but thats no big deal.
2 thumbs up for Seneca again for me.

Depending on the condition of the car...less than $2000 I would say.

I've been to Seneca for both my cars and my civic before I sold it. I've recommended friends and family for body work there as well.
At least half a dozen maybe more transactions with Rob and his team. They've gone above and beyond expectations and the workmanship was incredible.
I'd recommend Seneca in Mississauga 8 out of 7 days of the week. They are just THAT good.

My car is going in to Seneca next week... they'd better do a superb job! I'm getting the rust issues in the rear fenders dealt with, and a full spray for under 2K. Robert said the rust would be cut out, so they'd better do that. I don't see how he could guarantee the work otherwise... because it would just come back... And the paint job, I don't need to request any extra coats or anything (clear or color), do I? I don't know anything about cars getting painted. How many coats should be put on?

i almost spent that for the materials for when i did my car, so it makes me wonder what kind of paint system he is using

I think you need to get a proper quote depending on the kind of work your car needs. If you're requiring a lot of work the price could be significantly higher.

Exactly.
The fact that they didn't even bother to prime or prep my WW kit (which is why the paint cracked and flaked before I even got them installed) tells me A LOT about their quality of work! I even asked Robert specifically to make sure of that, and told him flat out I was willing to pay more for it to be done properly, but he kept trying to reassure me that it would be done.

Dunno what happened to your painted pieces but mine didn't crack. Got a lip painted there and all the prep was done. Primered, flex added to paint and I've twisted and flexed the lip in all kinds of directions and the paint is holding up fine.
When my car was being repainted (from top to bottom) .. Rob even offered to let me come in and see the process as they were painting the car. I saw it completely sanded down, filled, prepped sanded and then painted.
I watched the process and no corners were cut.

^ Who knows, it could have very well been some asshat that works (or did work) for him that was cutting corners, and Robert had no idea. But personally I don't care, that experience was enough to avoid ever going back there again. Besides there are many other places in the GTA with better service and quality then they offer.

I've had a total repaint (grey to red) done in the past on one of my cars by 427 Auto Collision, and it was amazing work. It was not cheap to say the least, but even after 5 yrs when I finally got rid of the car it still looked great. I would, and will be, using them again.

ditto, I've used Rob many times. He says to always come back if I find imperfections. He stays true to his lifetime warranty.

Trust me man, I feel the same way about my uncle @SFT. Honestly I went back there this year bc he offered to fix what he ***ked up last year. It was a wait of my time. He had my car while I was on vacation. Again the car looked great when I picked it up, now (3 months later) my lip needs to be repainted and the hood has stone chips.
The chipping in thepaint revealed he did not use n e kind of primer or hardener at all.
I just called Rob i should be getting a quote this saturday.

^ Those SFT group buy prices still good? I need some stuff painted (new front bumper and rear bumper touched up) before I trade my car in. I really only need the car to look good for 1 week, I could careless about long term or if all the paint peels off next month.

I was quoted $1000 to get the rust repaired. Then I inquired what it would cost to get my car re-sprayed front to back, he said he'd do everything (rust and re-spray) for $1800. I haven't seen Frankie's or Myk's car, but if it looks as good as everyone says, then for the extra $800, I can't go wrong..

Frankie, was the entire process (prep and paint) done in one day? I'd like to go see mine done, to make sure they do it right too!

^ I believe they had his car for about a week, working on it. Frankie says that they even supply you with a rental car, if need be.

Thanks - yeah, I'll be out my car for 8 days. Robert said 5 to get the rust done, another 3 for the paint job. I figure it takes a while to dry... but Frankie said he was able to go in and watch them prep and paint.. I was wondering if that was one day, or if he went in say 2 days to watch it done.
Yeah, I know about the loaner car, and they guarantee their work for the life of the car.

I went back a couple of times in 2 weeks that the car was there.
