Can't find the link of Spyder01's video he took of this.

But the front bumper lights on the P5 do not flash. For safety it would be nice to have it flash as you nose out into traffic.

So originally from www03mspcom on mazdas247.com:

a) Take a 4ft length of black 12-gauge wire and a 4ft lengh of red 12-gauge wire, and using electrical tape, wrap it completely leaving 4" at either end.

b) Carefully, remove the sidemarker assembly and "cut" the factory wires.

c) Using the new wire harness you just made, attach the black and red wires to the sidemarker light.

d) Fish the harness assembly up over the wheel wells to the rear of the headlights.

e) Using the black wire, tap the black wire on the parking light. This is ground.

f) Using the red wire, tape the green/black wire on the parking light, this is +12V.

g) Furthermore, if you want your parking lights (corner orange ones) to act the same, wire in parallel.

When the parking lights are on, so are the sidemarkers and the corner parking lights.

When you have the parking lights off, and turn signal, the center parking light, the outer parking light, and the sidemarker light blinks in unison.

When you have the parking lights on, and turn signal, the center parking light blinks - and then alternates with the outer parking light/sidemarker light in unison (similiar to GM cars).

a) bumper lens is solid parking light on
b) when parking light is on and turn signal is turned on, bumper lens alternates with the front and the bumper lens
c) sidemarker lights mimic the bumper lights, when parking light is on, bumper light is on and so is sidemarker light
d) when parking light is on and turn signal clicks in, then the bumper and sidemarker light are on together flashing alternately to the front parking turn signal light.

How to do this...

a) on both sides of the bumper, cut the black wire on the bumper lens. Run about 3 foot of wire to that black wire (on the actual bulb socket) for the bumper light to that of in the engine bay black/green wire on parking/turn signal light. This will make the bumper light be like the parking light and alternate.

b) to get the sidemarker light in the game, take out the fender wheel well area and then cut the the bulb socket wires from the stock harness and put them in parallel with the bumper lens (both sides)

I've come up with this "illustration". Enjoy and don't set your car on fire :woot::p

I don't know what color the wires running out of the front turn signals are, but the position of it is correct.

Yeah it only took me 2 years or so to get on it!

Someone should try it out on the sedan since those corners don't blink either.

The wire that you are tapping into is the signal interrupt IIRC, so it shouldn't be hard to do this to a sedan (or any other car).

^ ya I know, but I considered putting them on my car because when I put my clear corners on, I lost my reflective side marker on the lense.
