Thanks for the update. I've been waiting on this pulley. I'll try to find a better price.

Let me know if you can get it any cheaper than $325 taxes in....I squeezed that price out of them because I am always breaking their balls to get parts and I was the first to get the Apex springs from them!(they even sent a pic of my car to some potential customers in europe or somewhere)

Well if you can excuse my lack of proper lingo I will try and tell you. Basically the UR crank pulleys main function is to get more horsepower to your wheels. A P5 has 130hp at the crank(I think) but loses like 30hp by the time it gets to the wheels. The pulley is lightweight and the engine does not waste as much hp in trying to turn it....so more hp gets to the wheels.(something like rotational mass?) Whatever... that is basically what it does.

So a really noticable different will be felt
if installed?

along with reducing weight, it also reduces the overall diameter of the pully. So....your AC and Alternator will "be underdriven" when compared to the stock pully. So.... less HP is being used to drive those components.

The under drive pulley does underdrive the accessories but Unorthodox racing says that only 15% of the power gains come from underdriving. 85% of the power gains come from weight loss. That's good news cause I like my AC and my booming system.
Light pulley = less inertia = less power lossed as less mechanical work is done = power saved to goto the wheels. I think on the Pro5 we could expect a 5-12 hp gain. If your car is modded you might find yourself on the higher side of the estimate.

Newbie Questions: How complicated is installing a pulley? Cause i looked at where the pulley is (in P5), its pretty tight in there.
Thanks.

JRP gave one of our members a price of $295. It seems like it's "almost" a good deal.... but not quite! i'm not sure if $295 would be justifiable for something that isn't guaranteed to loosen some more hp out of the engine.

I disagree Chops, I bought one (not sure when I will install it) but I have never in my life heard of someone putting a UR crankpulley in their car and not at least noticing some difference! I mean if its noticeable then its worth it....I spent $350 on my Injen and it was only slightly noticeable so $325 for a UR pulley that will get you at least 5hp seems reasonable to me! Besides I wouldn't be surprised if it was more like 8-12hp gain in real life...UR quotes their gains at the wheels so if they say "5-25hp depending on application" then I think 8-12hp is well within our reach.

i guess the only way to know is by using a dyno. if you don't have one, wait till we meet up and ask Ross (P5 2 NV) to bring out his G-Tech Pro. I know it's not the most accurate means, but it's free!
