Step one

remove door pannel

Step two

remove glass to be tinted.

Step three

Clean the inside of the window very well, dirt and streaks will show up under the tint and will be next to impossible to remove after.

Step four

place glass of a soft surface like a pillow or jacket. Size up your window and cut off some tint from the roll.

**Always cut tint with a sharp razor (preferably new)**

Step Five

Take some scotch tape and place it on one corner of the tint, one on top, and one on bottom. then pull them apart to separate the film from the tint.

Step six

This is where your buddy comes in, spray down the window glass with the soapy water solution. gently and carefully remove the clear film. apply the tint, the side that had the clear film on it down.

caution once the clear film is removed, you cannot allow the tint to touch itself, it will not come back apart. it is forever glued.

Now while pealing back the clear film, put one corner down, hold it while pulling back the tints clear film periodically stopping to spray some soapy solution onto the tint

Caution don't fold or crinkle the tint as it will leave marks in the finished product

Step seven

Once tint is on the window with no clear film left to pull off, take your credit card and work from the center outwards. gently pull the card across the tint pulling out the soapy solution to the edges.

Step eight

once the tint has had most of the air/soap bubbles massaged out, trim the tint as close as possibly to the edge of the window with your razor blade. Use the side of the credit card as a straight edge when cutting like so

Leave a little space on between the edge of the glass and the edge of the tint (1mm or so) this little space will be hidden by the weather strip when reinstalled in the vehicle

Step nine

Once window has been trimmed completely, move out the rest of the soapy solution to the edges, work slowly you don't want to kink or crease the tint. again from the center outwards. so so until all the soapy solution/air bubbles have been worked out and the edges stay down

Place in the sun to dry, wash off any dirt on the glass and tint side and reinstall to the P5, you may need to remove some more bubbles after installed.

This was my first attempt at tinting and it came out very well, the tint i bought was scratch resistant 20%.
Cost was approx
$20 for tint, basic 20% black limo does two sides or one rear window
$1.49 for 5 new razor blades

everything else was basic household stuff

A buddy and patience is a must, those extra hands help a lot to prevent the tint from touching itself, kinking and crinkling.

The same basic rules apply for tinting windows that cannot be removed.(ie triangles rear)

:cool:Good luck:)
