Well, I've seen the possibilty of an engine swap at aspec for $4300.00, but I also noticed that it says for 90-95 Pro's...
Now I dont have 4300.00 to dish out right now, but in the future if I decide I want this I was just curious if the swap would work on a 2000LX or is it a different setup all together?

I don't think it will be half as easy and if they will do it at all they will charge more$$

I swear I saw something about this, on the Protege owners forum. It is only for the 90-94 pro, not 95(typo). But then again, yours is a 2000. I don't know the specifics, but I don't think you'd have enough room in your engine compartment without some serious mods. THere are people, I believe that have the GTX swaps in their second and third generations however. I remember emailing A-spec about this earlier in the summer and they said that for my second gen, it wouldn't really be feasible without extensive mods and fabrication. But on the plus side, there are people out there with turboed second and third gens, so its possible. Now I guess it depends on wether they spent some badassed cash to do it, or not.

Thanx for the reply...and I was assuming the same thing about a higher price to do it. It makes sense, just wanted to see if anyone else checked into it yet.

Ryan may be right about the the KLZE swap. I recall, either Paul or Steve from A-spec mentioning that the swap is only possible on the G1 Proteges (90-94). G2's will have to settle with the 1.8L BP-T engine/tranny swap, which to my knowledge, is one mighty fine motor. As for the G3's, there may be enough room, but every nook and cranny will have to be considered as both engine (KLZE) and tranny are involved so it's best that you call A-spec...
