Nicely done, Roswel ! As Dave mentioned countless of times, you get that wonderful vibes everytime a project comes out right. Keep up the good work !

Super nice. I wish i had talent to paint parts of my
car without potentially screwing it up!

That etched clear plastic looks wicked! I have never etched plastic. How is it done? Can I use plexiglass?

I would consider doing something like that in a stereo install.
What is involved?

that's a really sweet job you did on your dash. was it hard to paint the inside part yellow?? how long did it take you?? perhaps you can make a how-to as to how you went about doing that.

I have already posted a "how-to" instructional on the gauge bezel.  It's in the RICE/Inside forum.

Here (http://msg.toprotege.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=1810) is the direct link.

Dave, if by etching you mean carving stuff into the plastic then yes you can do that with plexiglass. I've done it in art class once. The way we did it though was to manually carve into the material which is very very hard and tedious. I'm sure there's an easier way.

i should clarify, that deflector is not etched in the true sense of the word. etching would involve masking of the area and using a chemical i believe. it comes out super even and professional looking. look for etched glass and you'll see what i mean. i simply masked off and very carefully sanded with 400 grit paper the area i wanted. it came out really well done. i'm gonna make another one and have it engraved on the back side with something like mazdaspeed or whatever, haven't decided yet.

it was mentioned it would look good on a stereo install. you let the cat out of the bag. i have a piece of plexiglass waiting to be cut to my desing specs. once done i will chemically etch it and when installed it will be lit ffom behind. if i ever get the damn thing back from the guy who's cutting it i will take some pics.
