March 22, 2009 - Maple Syrup Pancakes Cruise!

The March event for TOprotege, a cruise to far far eastside for Pancakes at a conservation area. About 20 members of the Toronto Protege Club got together at 10am at Kennedy Commons and headed east for this cruise. The cruise sheets were handed out with simple directions and everybody was off!

During the cruise, we got to see the farmlands coming back to the life as spring starts. Some cows... preparing to be milked... some horses... preparing to be ridden...and some sheeps, prepared to be... ummm yea.

Anyway, we got to the conservation area which was pretty much packed! All of our 20 cars had to park on the side of the road and walk into the park where we took a little walk, learning about maple syrup and how it was made and found. At the end of the little walking tour, we got a little taste of mayple syrup on pancakes as well. After the little pancake feast, members lined up to go on a wagon ride to see the many trees that were tapped for the maple syrup.

The group left the conservation area at around 12:30pm and some members headed over to Markham Station for lunch. GREAT meet everybody!

good cruise and a good meet overall. nice to meet a couple new people and drink alot of maple syrup for basically free. at $60 a gallon my home supply doesnt diminish quite so fast.

Good event, good eats and good peeps (whoa a rhyme-ish thing...i should be a rapper). Had tons of fun and laughs, especially on the FRS's and the old school music being played.

Props to those who came out to Markham Station after.... :P
